Review: Always Unique by Nikki Turner

I: With only two hundred dollars, Unique packed her suitcase and headed to New York City for a brand new start. It’s there that Unique meets big time boxing promoter, Kennard, and it is love at first sight. After nine months of living in the lap of luxury with Kennard, skeletons from Unique’s past show up and it will cost her a cool million dollars to not only keep her relationship but her life. Unique isn’t about to lose it all. With the help of her best friend, she devises a major heist, to pull it off all she has to do is stay alive.

II: Living the life she has always dreamed of, Unique isn't about to let her past ruin her future with her fiancé, Kennard. But the tables are turned on her and Unique is fighting for her very life. As for Kennard, he is stunned to learn about her past, but more importantly he is not about to let anyone get away with hurting his woman. As Unique and her best friend, Teeydah, set out on a path of revenge, a new menace and a new betrayal rises.

III: The blade of revenge cuts both ways. However, that is not going to stop Unique from getting those who are out to get her. And she is determined to be the last woman standing.

I love Nikki Turner to begin with so I know when I get one of her books I wont be disappointed. This was no exception, I read it literally in less than a hour and was on to the next one. Now I'm a little fuzzy on my book titles but this character was taken from another series I cant remember, but I remember the names Lootchee and the whole "mexican whorehouse" thing so now I have to go through the collection and jog my memory but that's what I love about writers like Nikki Turner, Kiki Swinson, Wahida Clark and so on... its like the story line never ends.

As far as Unique's journey, I say she is the blueprint for most characters in books like these.... a beautiful street smart vixen with a nice body and ability to meet these "money making hustlas" get dogged out then find a business man to wife them without knowing you were a hoe. Now I'm not hating, love that I can read a book about a girl doing things I would never do and some things I wish I could do but I feel that Unique's story is just a bit different, she has real ride or die bestie that is gonna hold her down and she has found the perfect man....
