5/5 Review: Falling in Deeper by Shayla Black

NOTE: (This is a Dom/sub series, this book in particular is pretty mild, but the others may not be. Please be prepared before you read this series.)

Stone Sutter is a convicted felon who is out on 'leave' helping out the feds. His job, convince Lily Taylor to testify against Timothy Canton, an evil man who hides his secrets deep, and has put on a show for the state of California, he's about to throw his hat into the governors race. When Stone took one look at Lily, aka Sweet Pea/Misty Smith and fell in love and had to get closer to her.

Lily is working at Dominion, a D/s club. She has so many dark secrets that she keeps a wall around herself. She's meek and mild, and scared of almost everything, with good reason. Canton ruined her life 7 years ago and she's been on the run ever since. Constantly looking over her shoulder and making sure not to get too close to anyone. Until Axel that is. He became her best friend and protector. He taught her so much, and trained her to submit, while caring to her needs. She loved him, but never fell "in love" with him. But he met the love of his life, and has left to go to England for a while, and ended their Dom/sub "relationship". Stone felt he was the perfect man to fill Lily's needS. She needed a new protector, and he knew he had to have her.

I just LOVE Shayla Black! I think everything she writes is amazing! I have to admit though, that I didn't know she had continued the "wicked ties" series, and this is the 11th book! Man do I have some catching up to do! You definitely do not have to read the others before picking up this one, but I guarantee you'll want to pick them up after! Falling In Deeper is simply amazing and a great addition to any collections!

4/5 Review: WILD RIDE by Opal Carew

Eden is a place where dreams come true, but for Marissa it is more like a nightmare. She is shaken up because she has an ex-boyfriend who is a biker that is now stalking her. Her only escape is to take a trip to an exclusive resort Eden with one of her good friends. Paradise is where she thinks she is safe, but she can’t even escape her past. Out of the blue this stranger on a motorcycle shows up and demands Marissa to get onto his bike. She has no idea why but she trusts him and gets on. Marissa has no idea what she has gotten herself into, all she knows it that the guy that saved her is going to be giving her one Wild Ride!


This book was steamy! Who does not love a bad ass biker in leather with tattoos? While reading you were able to put yourself into the story and wish you were Marissa. Life gives us certain choices and our decisions help carve a way to making life interesting. Opal Carew is an amazing writer and has such a creative imagination. This storyline is one you can sink your teeth into, a page turner that you will never want to put down.

3.5/5 Review: The Darker Side of Pleasure by Eden Bradley

This book contained 3 stories. Each of which were hard to read for me, 2 of which I couldn't finish. I can't stand the sadist and masochist part of BDSM, and that's what each of these stories were about. Being beaten, publicly humiliation and submission/sexual slavery.

The first story is about a husband and wife who are on the edge of divorce and decide to try one last thing to keep their marriage alive. I read through most of this story, but it hit on a lot of personal demons in my own past and I had to stop because it became too hard to read.

The second story is of a young woman who desires pain and reaches out to a trainer in the Dominant world. The Dom kept 3 women in his home naked at all times. They had to do his bidding, including bathing the new girl. I was a little blown away by that. The only thing that kept my interest was the main male character, the Doms nephew. This man was also a trainer in the Dom world, but when he looked at her, he wanted to hear her speak, hold her and give her everything she desired. While yes, she desired the pain, she was not into the humiliation she was getting at his uncles hand. This story is what gave this book the 3 points for me.

The last story I unfortunately could not get far into. A sex column reporter was interviewing a Dom for her BDSM story, he talked her into participating in order to get a better story. I was intrigued, until he mentioned her being naked and doing everything he said o ey his every command, serving him drinks, bending over his knee. I couldn't read any further. I enjoy reading of bondage and toy usage... but, while I understand woman enjoy being a sex slave, and enjoy pain and those kind of things, I do not. I cannot read about it either. So while I give this book a 3/5, my review is only one side of the spectrum. Others may completely love these stories, they are written well and meant to be enjoyed, just not by me.

Let me start by saying that communication is everything!

 

Nathaniel and Abby are both Dom and Sub as well as Husband and Wife.  They are completely in love.  Their lack of communication is what brings upon the issues they face in this story.  Abby finds herself wanting others to watch her.  It excites her and arouses Nathaniel.  She is extremely jealous, however, of her one of Nathaniel's employees. She doesn't trust her and that starts arguments between the two.  Nathaniel feels that with Abby's growing obsession with exhibition, he may not be able to give her what she needs.  All of these issues could have been avoided if they had spoken of their feelings instead of trying to please one another.  Compromise is a huge deal.  It is necessary for a marriage to work especially one involving BDSM.

 

I truly enjoyed reading this story and know that I need to go back and read their initial story.  I recommend this to all.  It has steamy scenes, touchy scenes, it practically has it all.

WOW!  What an incredible story and what a way to tell it.  I really enjoyed reading about Anne and Ben.  The strides they took to be with each other and the obstacles they had to overcome had me rooting for this couple.  She a Mistress in the D/S community, and he an ex-ARMY Ranger who is not only a well-known photographer but works security at the Shadowlands BDSM club, make quite the pair.  This story is filled with action, and addresses issues such as love, abuse, BDSM lifestyle, family drama and more. 

Ben considers himself vanilla.  He is, however, intrigued with Mistress Anne.  She is his everything and is willing to try just about anything he can to be with her.  Even though she has a certain type of “boy” she likes as slaves something about him draws her to him.  When a chance at indulging in a scene with the Mistress occurs he takes the opportunity and runs with it.  She is also thrilled with this development.  Their mutual attraction and chemistry leads them into a relationship both want but scares her.  She guards her heart too tightly.  Will Ben be able to show her that even if he isn’t cut out to be a slave he still wants her dominance in the bedroom?  She owns his heart and he will not give up on her.  Will she be able to let him in and trust him?  She loves him but will he hurt her or help her heal from past pain?

I was blown away with this story.  I will admit that there were parts that had me crying.  I loved the emotions and the characters.  I recommend this book a million times over.

Review: Love Bites Collection by Angela Knight

Review:

Oath of service was a delightful read.  It was filled with a lot of BDSB scenes but also with a long standing love story. Well written and the action WOW.  A action packed romance--who could ask for anything better. Morgana le Fay is a very powerful and useful witch.  Her team takes on the hard cases and rods the world of those evil beings. She has been is love with Percival forever just too stubborn to admit it and tell him.

Percival and his "brothers" Cador and Marrok, are the best of the best. All three have sadistic minds and enjoy women tremendously. Percival has always loved Morgana. Can you win her in the end. When Morgana pledges her oath to Percival, it starts as a way to tame her but ends with a fierce love between all of those on this team.  Battling Huar was costly and messy but in the end he got what he deserved and she got Percival.

Sadly Soren loses her from their once in a while romps but he sees in the end that Percival is the best for her. I could not stop reading this book until I reach the end so I would recommend it to everyone who enjoys a tad of sugar and spice!
