Release: DIAMOND by Tigris Eden + Review

DIAMOND

Series: V Vice
Book: One
Publisher: Kats Kreative Ideas
Release Date: April 26, 2016

The first book in a new series by Author Tigris Eden. Beyond the Red Door, everything has a price.

Eons ago, the comet Biel passed through Earth’s atmosphere, depositing Travelers and leaving behind remnants that drastically altered the planet and its inhabitants. Hundreds of years later, mutation and evolution have left behind a desolate wasteland and dangers beyond comprehension.

The last remnants of the human race are clinging to life, living in the ruins of Earth’s major cities and struggling to survive. Technology is scarce, and what little remains comes from the very thing that almost destroyed them. Monsters roam the streets, and fear and duplicity rule.

The fallout from the comet has mutation spreading, disfiguring men and twisting their minds, turning them into carnivores and savages that threaten the city and its people. Amidst the chaos, one man rules as Sovereign and corners the market on both technology and trade. To Lavarious Diamond, everything is for sale or trade. The only question is how much it’s worth.

When a mysterious woman comes to the Quarry and promises a huge payday, Diamond’s tidy life is shaken up, and he finds himself uncharacteristically helping her. Along the way, secrets and deceit abound. When the truth comes out, nothing and nobody will ever be the same.

EXCERPT

She watched as he went for the can of peaches. The label was already peeled away, leaving behind a silver can rimmed with rust in the dents. When he lifted the top, the smell was the first thing to hit her senses. She’d never tasted peaches before, but her mouth certainly wanted to try.
Diamond dipped his fingers into the can. He pulled out a golden slice, slick with juice. She didn’t know what to expect when her lips met the fruit, but what she got was pure heaven. There was a slight tang, and then a flavor so full, so sweet, Nadya couldn’t help but moan. She shamelessly sucked on Diamonds fingers, trying to get more of the peach’s flavor. The saltiness of Diamond’s hand added to the glorious taste saturating her tongue.
Her eyes closed and a sound she’d never heard before vibrated beneath her chest and crawled up her throat, giving life to her already ravenous appetite. Her body swayed forward as Diamond yanked his fingers from her mouth, uttering a curse.
“That’s enough for today. You can eat the rest.” His voice was different. Broken. But Nadya tried not to focus on the sound of his voice. He’d said she could eat the rest of the sinfully delicious fruit. She dove in with gusto, not caring that she was acting like a wild animal. She sucked down slice after slice until there was nothing left.
Darkness began to settle fast. She followed closely behind Diamond and Lip as they talked about their next move. Every time Diamond’s hazel eyes fell on her, she felt he was blaming her for the entire ordeal back at the theater. It was Lindy who had alerted the Gearheads to their position and had gotten them attacked. Although, now that Nadya thought about it, maybe they’d known all along and were just waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Her gut told her Lindy was somehow the cause for everything. The way the male Clancy’s eyes had moved to her, seeking clarity meant something. Ragers were organized, their group more alert. She may not remember where she came from or who her real parents were, but she remembered being trained.
“We’re going to stop off at the house, spend the night there. We’ll slip through the back. You can alert the security detail we’ve arrived,” Nadya heard Diamond say to Lip, who wasn’t at all happy they were stopping at the house.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Lip shot back.
“Why not?”
“Because too many variables are in play. Nadya may look stupid, but the girl is far from it. Have you seen the way she catalogues everything? Right down to the very last detail. If I didn’t know any better, I would think she was a Bionic or worse, a Splice.”
She wasn’t either of those things. She did check her surroundings. It was the only way she was assured she had all her options covered. If she didn’t, she’d end up dead or far worse. She wasn’t about to let her life end due to a clumsy mishap. Not if she could help it.
“I also have excellent hearing. It’s a trait developed for those of us with really small ears.”

REVIEW

This is not my first read by Ms. Eden, in fact I am a huge fan of her writing. This however, is a different kind of story. Ms. Eden has broadened her horizons and moved from adult fiction to distopian. I am not a huge fan of distopian but because I adore her writing I wanted to see if she could change my mind, and I am pleased to say she has indeed. Ms. Eden's writing voice is heard throughout and she will suck you into the future world that is gritty and ugly and it's a dog eat dog world.

Nadya is a women with secrets - secrets even she can't remember, she has flashes of who she is but they are vague recollections at the best. She is a fighter, she is a heroine for the times (only she doen't know it yet. She sets off on a mission to protect her adoptive family by selling her virginity to the highest bidder through Lavarious Diamond - he is a man in charge, a man of passions, and man not afraid to trade anything to get what he wants and needs. It is his world or so he thinks - it's a harsh place where everything and anything has a price.

Ms. Eden, will take you into her the depths of her mind and leave you screaming. I will warn you there is a cliff hanger of an ending that will make you scream for more! Well, done Tigris. If you are a fan of distopian then this is definitely worth the time - if your not and want to give it a try then Diamond is an awesome way to get your toes wet.

Or is the glimpse he allows her to see enough to fight for what she knows is his only chance for happiness?

**********

I am a huge fan of this author - she is among my top five go to reads!  I have been waiting and waiting for this one!  Dietrich is my favorite Primori.  The book reads well on it's own but hell - you really are hurting yourself not to read all the Shadow Unit books.

We all love to hate Dietrich or as they call him D!  D, takes no crap and dishes out the butt holiness in epic proportions and with style that is all his own.  Then he meets his match in the lovely character of Jorunn.

I adored the way we finally get to learn about Dietrich's life, past and what exactly makes him the worlds biggest Prick.  But, it was so much fun watch him finally fall in love.  Of course,he does it in his own style and I really wanted to slap the crud out of him from time to time.

If you are looking for a wonderful series to curl up with as the weather starts to cool, read the series so you can love to hate D and then love him again. Can't wait for the next book! I highly recommend this book if you love PNR at it's finest.

Excerpt

“I’d like to be a part of this mission,” D said the words before he could stop them. Shaking his head to clear his brain, he stood back. Did he really just volunteer? He’d gotten what he needed. Now all he had to do was stick close to the club owner.

“You’re always a part of the missions. You’re transport,” Xee reminded as if he’d gone and lost his mind.

Shaking his head, he walked up to Xee, making sure she understood his intentions. He didn’t like the way Draven was eyeing him.

“I want to be on the ground for this one.”

The female’s eyes got big. Even Draven and Gabe’s eyebrows shot skyward.

“What?”

Xee tried placing her hand on his forehead, but he easily dodged her.

“You feeling okay?”

He was fine. It wasn’t like anyone truly cared either way. He stuck to his shit, they stuck to theirs.

“I’m good. I just want…” What the hell did he want? Oh, right, to get closer to Phineas, fuck Jorunn out of his system, and in the end, be one step closer to getting his sister back. Wait, what? Fuck Jorunn? No. Hell, no! That was not part of the plan. Dick says otherwise. His dick was fucking stupid. “I just want to ensure we get the Sahidic and tell Eremiel he can go fuck himself.” Yeah, you sound so convincing. He never bragged he was up for the next Academy Award. It was convincing enough, though.

“Well, fuck me and call me Sally. Dietrich is trying to be a model citizen.” Xee laughed.

“Is that an invite, girl?” he growled.

Xee knew him better than that. She was tied to Gabe, he knew, but he wanted to remind everyone listening that he was still a dick.

“Dude, seriously, sooo not my type,” Xee quipped back.

“You ain’t got a type, girl.”

Xee cracked a grin. “How do you figure that?”

Dietrich turned his attention to Gabe, who was standing with his arms crossed, trying his best to look badass. Draven quietly left, taking Faith with him. The wolf was probably going in search of his mate.

“You’re literally fucking Death,” he deadpanned.

3rd Annual Bloggoversary Final Giveaway!!!

Featured Author: Tigris Eden

“How did that make you feel?” A voice she knew all too well whispered into her ear.
Is he really here? Nerina thought to herself. There was no way that Victor was here in the club, right now, talking to her, and asking her the ridiculous question of how did that scene make her feel. Was he stupid or something?
Turning to face her tormentor, she glared up at him making sure he saw her displeasure at him sneaking up on her.
“Don’t you have anything better to do with your time, than harass me?”
“Who said I’m here to see you?”
             “Who says you aren’t?”
             “I do.”
Great, they were going to spare verbally with the one another until one of them gave in. Well, it wasn’t going to be her.
“Whatever, I’m here with friends, so, later.”
He almost reached for her arm, the one with the silver bracelets that covered her scars, but seemed to think better of it.
             “How about a dance?”
Was this guy for real? Nerina thought to herself. He had no problems displaying his apt dis-like of her disfigurement, and now he wanted to dance?
Victor was a big man and she couldn’t see how he was going to dance with her, but if that’s what he wanted, then one dance wasn’t going to hurt anyone.
“I wish you weren’t wearing that top.” He said out of nowhere as they swayed to the beat of the music.
“Well, I wish you wouldn’t open your mouth to speak, but we can’t all have what we want.”
Victor threw his head back and laughed. It was deep and melodious and shot straight to the core of her traitorous body.
There was a gentle touch at the nape of her neck and Nerina almost bolted until she heard his brother Colin speak into her ear.
             “What do we have here?”
“We’re having ourselves a dance Colin. Behave yourself,” Victor urged with a growl in his voice. She hadn’t realized before but not only was Victor vocal in the sense of grunts and growls, and a few rumbles, so were the rest of his family. Including Teak. Maybe it was a cultural thing, living in a small town. Communication was just as verbal as it was non-verbal so maybe those sounds meant something to them.
“Wish she wasn’t wearing the death top man,” Colin commented as his hands went to the outside of her thighs to move her the way he wanted her to move. She didn’t protest, men tended to be touchy during dancing. As long as they both knew that’s all they were getting from her she was okay.
“What’s with the two of you wanting me out of my top?”
“Silver doesn’t look good on you is all. You should try gold, maybe even cooper, but silver? No silver just won’t do. It clashes with your skin tone.”
Well that was definitely a first. Two men advising her on what not to wear and then suggesting what she should wear. Maybe they weren’t into girls. Her mouth cracked into a grin she couldn’t hide, and Victor leaned forward so that his breath caressed her cheek as he whispered in her ear.
             “Why are you smiling?”
“No reason, I just didn’t realize you two were gay is all.”
Victor’s back straightened and he stopped moving to stare down at her with an arched brow. His brother Colin tightened his hold at her thigh, almost painfully.
“We’re not gay.” Victor said with disgust. She knew they weren’t gay, but she’d said it anyway, so he could see how it felt.
“You got something against gay people? Or is it all people you view as different or beneath you?”
His growl was almost as loud as the music. Nerina stepped out of Colin’s grip so that she could look both brothers in the face.
“Who in the hell gave you the idea that we’re remotely like that?” Colin asked with a sour look on his face.
She looked in Victor’s direction, who was still staring at her as if she’d said something totally out of character. It wasn’t like he really knew her anyway, so he’d have no clue that on any given day, she always spoke her mind.
“Your brother took one look at me and made an assumption. So I made my own. It doesn’t feel good to have people assume does it?”
“I was taken off guard is all.”
“By what? I’m like you and anyone else, I just happen to have a disability. You took one look at my hand and you literally sneered.”
             “I did no such thing.”
“You did.” She insisted. “How about we cut the dance short, and go our separate way.”
“Great going dip-shit. You just ruined my chance to get fresh with her.” Colin chimed in.
Victor growled again. This time at his brother Colin who was smiling.
She started to back away but Victor apparently had more to say.
             “Introduce us.”
             “To who?”
             “Your friends.”
“Not happening, go find someone else to dance with.”
She did not want him or his brother meeting her friends.
             Ever.

Review: Arctic Bound by Tigris Eden

There are secrets in even the smallest of towns...
Nerina Simpson fled the streets of New York City, hoping to find solace outside the small town of Talkeetna, Alaska. Physically scarred from a fire that claimed both her parents, Nerina keeps to herself while she tries to put the darkness of her life behind her.
When a winter storm forces her into town, she collides with Victor Canidae. An arrogant man who makes it no secret that he and everyone else in the town want her to leave.
Headstrong, and refusing to back down, Nerina finds herself in trouble when her two, four legged companions get lost in a storm, landing her in the path of an angry bear hell bent on taking her life. Until a mysterious white wolf comes to her rescue.
When she wakes up in a warm cave, the last person she expected to see is Victor. Stuck in a cave until the storm passes the two decide there is only one way to pass the time, and quickly when you’re getting physical.

Ms. Eden brings us an amazing story.  Artic Bound kept me guessing!  Dosen’t happen often but I was stunned speechless a few times with plot twists I never saw coming.
Nerina, is a hiding in a small cabin in Alaska.  She was badly burned in a fire and her scars are both physical and emotional, however, she is strong and independent.  She has a secret past that unfolds through the novel. She is working on living and healing in the harsh climates of Alaska, with the two dogs the previous owner had.
Victor is a werewolf and is meant to be the pack Alpha come spring.  He is all Alpha and a lot of jerk at times.  He has the future of the Pack on his shoulders and he takes it seriously.  I was happy when we got to see him care – he cares about his family, friends, and his pack.  But, can he care for Nerina.
The two together is combustible!  They will make you laugh and make you want to smack some sense into them now and again.  Altogether awesome!
I will note this novel isn’t for the meek.  It is full of adventure, arguments, fighting, it has rope play (which I must say was vivid), BDSM and hot as the 4th of July!  I look forward to reading the rest of the series to see what adventures and passion flair for the Alaska Pack.
