5/5 Review: Dark Crime by Christine Feehan

I have all of Christine Feehan's Dark Series books in paperback, and have just finished purchasing all of them in Kindle format. I love her stories of the Carpathian Warriors who find their lifemates, and at once their world is in vivid color, where once it was shades of grey. Each plot is different, although the premise is the same throughout the series: Carpathian Warrior meets lifemate; sees in color; binds their souls, and then go off to fight the "undead". Undead are Carpathian Warriors who have lost their hopes of finding a lifemate, and have turned into nosferatu preying on human and Carpathian alike.

The book was awesome. It had everything anyone could need from a book. Action, love, darkness, betrayal, mystery, romance, and characters that you can fall in love with. To be able to see the profession of the characters from the beginning of the book to the end was a delight.

I highly recommend all of her series... you won't be disappointed!

5/5 Review: Power Game by Christine Feehan

The Ghostwalker series took me a few books to get into, but knowing they were from the talented Christine Feehan, I had total faith in the series.  Power Game didn't disappoint.  It ticks off all the things you need in a book; great storyline, strong characters and something to dig your teeth into.
Power Game is about the powerful Ezekial “Zeke” Fortunes and the family he has grown to protect.  He has always been there for everyone, forever the protector of his rapidly growing family.  First it was his brothers he protected, but now it includes their mates and their children.  Ofcourse there is Nonny too, the beloved mother to Ezekial and his team mates.
Bellisia Adams is the woman that opens his heart.  The moment he smells her scent; touches her hand it is his undoing.  She was born to be his mate.  Also genetically enhanced, she really is his other half to his soul.
Bellisia is specially enhanced to camouflage into her surroundings while Ezekial is a super soldier you don’t want to mess with.  Someone wants him and his kind dead and their path is straight into the swamp haven that has become their safe place.
Their journey is a very dangerous one where they need to twist around ever increasing danger and learn to trust each other to survive.
I loved all the characters in this book, they are all so likable.

5/5 Review: SHADOW RIDER by Christine Feehan

The #1 New York Times bestselling “queen of paranormal romance”* is back with a sexy new series starring a Chicago crime family that hides a dark, mystical secret..

Being a huge fan of Christine Feehan and having read both her Carpathian and Ghost Walkers series. I of course, was anxious to see what world she would bring to her old and new readers alike. I'll put in here a warning that this book is rated R and contains some extreme sexual content.

In this new world, we are given two very magnetic characters. Stefano Ferraro and Francesca Cappello. Stefano is from a very old wealthy Italian family that might or might not have mob ties. Francesca is a woman on the run, trying to make a living while clearly hiding from her past. Add in a world of magic where shadows go hand in hand with death, and it's not hard to get lost in this book for hours at a time. The main characters chemistry leaps off the pages, as they try to handle each other and the dangers surrounding them.

I'm happy to say that once again Christine Feehan did not disappoint, Shadow Rider is a literary masterpiece! For a long time reader like myself, I found myself once again surprised by how creative Christine is when it comes to taking old concepts and breathing new life into them, with that special added dose of magic thrown in. In this case the long treasured world of Italian family mixed with justice that's well deserved.

Those new to the Feehan world of romance and magic, will find something to love in this first book of the Shadow series, and hopefully leading them to her other series.

4/5 Review: FIRE BOUND by Christine Feehan

Fire Bound is book 5 in the Sea Haven Series by the wonderful and talented author, Christine Feehan.  I have read many books from this author and she never fails to deliver.

Lissa Piner has a secret.  A secret that she has not shared with anyone else.  As a talented glass blower who is quickly becoming well known, it’s her trip to Italy that really makes her smile.  To everyone else she is there to make a masterpiece, but to Lissa she is there to finally avenge a terrible circumstance and get revenge from those who took her family from her.

Casmir Prakenskii is a trained assassin living off the grid.  He has been asked to escort Lissa and protect her but what he sees when he looks at her is his other half.  Guess we're not in Kansas anymore because things are about to get scorched!

I loved how the characters were developed to such a point you could feel all their emotions.  Casmir and Lissa burn up the pages, and by that I do mean in every sense of the phrase.  The sex scenes are long, but extra sexy and make you thirst for a cold drink.

The mysteries that are unfolded, the betrayal, the loyalties and every other little flicker of the heart makes Fire Bound sensational and scorchingly hot.  I LOVED it!

5/5 Review: DARK PROMISE by Christine Feehan

Dark Promise is the next instalment from Christine Feehan's Carpathian Series.  This series has been continuing for so long that I think it deserves to be recognised as its own world.  Could you imagine having a real Carpathian living amongst our world, it would be amazing, just like this instalment, absolutely amazing! Miss Feehan is a master storyteller and never disappoint her fans!

Dark Promise is the evidence that Christine Feehan can not only hold together a series together for 29 books, but she can keep the storyline unique and creative.  This book is an amazing piece of work.  It touches on subjects that are sensitive but done in such a way that it is realistic enough to believe the scenes but still fit the storyline perfectly.

The storyline originally sets the scene between our beloved characters Gabrielle Sanders and Gary Jensen.  We know a lot about these two characters through many of the books before this one.  We have always known they were destined to be together and it was only a matter of time before something great happens for them.  A wedding night anyone would assume to be the night for great things, and in this book that is no exception except for the huge twist that comes with the wedding night.

Aleksei is an ancient and although we have all grown to love the ancients from previous books I have to admit that Aleksei isn’t my favourite.  He has all the qualities that I usually love.  He is a protector and alpha, and I do believe him to be a fine warrior.  The chemistry between himself and Gabrielle is intense and the dominant BDSM ways are expertly told through a brilliant storyline.

Trixie Joanes and Fane were my favourite couple of this book.  Trixie is the grandmother to Teagan who is lifemate to Andre from a previous book.  Trixie has come to the Carpathian Mountains in search of Teagan who she is sure is in a great deal of trouble.  What she learns to late is the people she has come with are there to kill Teagan and her friends.  Trixie manages to lose them within the dense forest and finds herself high up in the mountains.  She follows a song (which is her gift) and finds herself inside the monastery that several ancients have claimed as their own so they don't interact with anyone else and can stand off meeting the dawn or turning vampire.

Fane is one of these ancients and when he sees Trixie for the first time he is so happy and intrigued by her that he doesn’t know what he should do with her.  After all, it’s not every day your lifemate tries to greet you with a stake to the heart.  Thankfully Fane is such an easy going and lovable personality that he has the charisma to guide Trixie into realising just what sort of treasure she is.  I loved Fane's personality.  He was such a strong and dominant male, but at the same time knew how to let go enough to have Trixie's dominant personality reach out.  Loved the chemistry between these two.  Loved everything about them.

And what would a Carpathian book be without the vampires?  We had several nasties in this one and they were all dealt with exactly how they should be dealt with.  Deadly and Mercilessly!  There was also the sensual sex scenes that we expect no less of from Christine Feehan books, and as usual they were as hot as you would have come to know.

My heart breaks for Gary and the only thing that keeps me going is the fact I believe Christine Feehan would never leave him in such a state and he will have his happy ending too.  I’m hoping this will be in the next book or two, but after reading this book, I’m not sure if I could see a book before Gary's or not.  I guess that’s something we will have to wait and find out.

4/5 Review: Spider Game by Christine Feehan

The Cajun dive in the middle of the godforsaken swamps wasn’t exactly Trap Dawkins’ idea of fun. But the GhostWalker wasn’t there for a good time. He was looking for her. Cayenne. It’s where she found her victims. Poor suckers. Then again, who wouldn’t want to leave a place like this with a woman like her?

It’s not Cayenne’s fault. Locked up, experimented on and never knowing kindness, she was bred this way—with a heart of pure venom. Trap understands her. He survived his own dark past and he shares her desire for getting even. But now Trap’s greatest danger is Cayenne herself. Because what’s inside her is hard to control—especially when it’s aroused by a lover as reckless as Trap.

**********

Trap and Cayenne are both ghostwalkers that have been experimented on to form super humans.

Trap is a soldier who's special abilities make him an asset to his team, but his icy demeanor and rude attitude makes him hardly loveable. He's a brilliant scientists who's made himself a small fortune,  named one of the most eligible bachelors so he's a catch to any socialite who's only in it for the money and fame. But that's not what Trap wants, so he uses them and tosses them aside. Until he saves a fellow ghostwalker who's on the termination list. He can't get Cayenne off his mind, and he refuses to let her get away.

Cayenne has always been in solitude. Caged like an animal and experimented on her entire life. When she sees Trap she lures him into freeing her from her cage in the termination area. Only she can't seem to leave the area as she's continuously drawn back to the swamp and Trap. Will the two opposites attract?

So this is the first time I've ever read a book by Christine  (I know, I know!) And I have to say, I'm kinda bummed I grabbed this one. And maybe it's my own fault, I should have taken the title more seriously. The story is written well, some things are a bit repetitive,  but I enjoyed her writing. Miss Feehan's books are made of awesomeness!!!

However... Cayenne had her DNA mixed with a spider.... I HATE spiders. Reading some of these scenes were extremely hard for me to swallow. I generally enjoy shifter books, but not of the insect variety. So that alone made this drop a point for me.

The storyline was great, and if the other books in this series stay away from (most) bugs, I'll definitely be adding this to my TBR list.

4/5 Review: Wild Cat by Christine Feehan

A simple request for Siena Arnotto: deliver a gift to her grandfather’s friend. One look at Elijah Lospostos, hard-bodied and stripped to the waist, and Siena succumbs to a feline stirring she never felt before, and to Elijah’s reckless and pleasurable demands. But when that pulse-throbbing moment ends in the murder of an unexpected intruder, Elijah accuses the shaken and confused Siena of setting him up.
Then Siena discovers the truth of her Leopard heritage, of the secrets in her grandfather’s inner circle, and the sinister plot of revenge that has put her in jeopardy. When Siena’s grandfather is assassinated, she realizes the only man she can trust is Elijah. Now as her Leopard rises from within, Siena and Elijah share not only an animal instinct for survival—but a desire so raw and wild it may be the only thing that can save them.

**********

Wild Cat is the eighth instalment in the Leopard Series by Christine Feehan.  I have loved Ms Feehan's books since discovering her first book and this latest book doesn’t disappoint.  It has all the sexiness, intrigue and plus a brilliant storyline that any fan has come to expect.  Just like all her other books in this series, they can be read as a stand alone as we are always updated with a little bit of of the prior storyline, but its best read as a series.

I loved the dynamics of Elijah and Siena.  They are so powerful together with such tenderness that you fall in love with them both.  At the start of the book you may want to smash some sense into Elijah but he makes up for his shortcomings pretty quickly.

Sienna is the very typical protected princess that we have all read about, but there is one huge difference and that is she really isnt a little princess.  She is wild at heart and has such a sweet soul that trusts her grandfather fully.  It isnt until she unravels the biggest betrayal that she learns some very important truths about herself and with the help of Elijah can make peace with her life.

Elijah you could see as the hero from the start of the book and I really believe he was going to be the first “main” character that I couldn’t stand and even wondered if I would be able to get through the whole book.  From his arrogant and harsh personality to the way he could treat someone so badly the really started off as “what was CF thinking” few moments.  Thankfully Elijah was able to show his sweeter side and his more truthful side.  Yes he was always harsh, but he loved deeply and was willing to protect what was his with his soul.
Loved this book.  Loved the characters.  Loved the depth of the story.  Well done Ms Feehan.

4/5 Review: Dark Blood by Christine Feehan

At long last you are truly back with us...
Zev Hunter was an elite warrior, a dark-blood dealer of death to rogue Lycans who preyed on mankind. He was a loner, never given to personal attachments, and damned fierce at his job. But Zev begins to question his past and his purpose when he awakens in the darkness of the sacred cave of warriors—and is soothed back to consciousness by the sensuously familiar voice of one woman, the woman who has haunted his fantasies for centuries. She was Branislava, member of the Dragonseeker clan…

Mother Earth called the ancients to witness your rebirth…

For this half-mage, half-Carpathian temptress, the ritual of awakening Zev to the council of warriors was the only way to save him. Locked away for his own protection, the time has now come for his rebirth, for his blood to stir with that of the ancient warriors before him. He has been assured by Branislava that their fates are entwined, that their spirits are woven together for eternity and that his new purpose in life is beyond imagining.

Now, with a blood-sworn vow of honor, mercy and endurance, and under the influence of a siren as bewitching as Branislava, Zev begins to wonder what his purpose is, what it means for the future of the Carpathians and what it is about his rebirth that he has to fear…

Christine Feehan was one of the first authors I fell in love with as an adult reader.  She truly writes amazing pieces of work and never disappoints the avid fan.  Dark Blood is book 26 in the long running Carpathian Series.   Dark Blood wasnt my favourite of the series, but I do love how Ms Feehan can develop characters so fully that you virtually can see them in your mind and fall in love with everything about the characters and their surroundings.

Zev Hunter, an elite warrior has only recently learned he is what they call a half breed, part Lycan and part Carpathian.  Dark Blood continues on from the two previous books explaining more in-depth details about the lines and more back history about Zev.  Branislava is his life mate.  She is one of the Dragonseeker sisters who was locked away in a cave by the evil Xavier who just happens to be her father too.

In most books you often find the male is the hero of the story, even when heroine is truly as involved in the storyline and helping defend herself or the ones she loves its always the hero that seems to get all the credit.  In Dark Blood I find Branislava to be the main person who is doing all the healing and protecting.  Zev would give his life for his Branislava, but its Branislava that ties her spirit to him that brings him back on the brink of death.

The fighting scenes in this book are as ruthless and energetic as you have come to expect from a Carpathian story as are the villains of the story.  The worst part of the villains in this story is you had already thought they had died off in previous books only to find they were in fact triplets; twist and a half!  If you were wondering about the sex scenes, dont fear as there was plenty of them to keep it nice and steamy!

4/5 Review: Dark Ghost by Christine Feehan

He wasn’t civilized or tame. He had his own code and he lived by it.

Monk. Bounty hunter. Vampire slayer. Andre Boroi has spent centuries battling the undead, holding out against the dark with honor. But now, gravely wounded by master vampire Costin Popescu, Andre will be easy to track—his spilled blood marking the killing trail for Popescu and his hungry band of underlings. Andre’s only chance is to disappear into the gray mist of the Carpathians. To wait. To hope.

She had a healing touch and a scent that was his lifeblood.

In the mountains in search of a precious crystal, geologist Teagan Joanes suddenly finds herself hunted by those she once trusted. Then she comes across the warrior—wounded, wanting and irresistible. Andre has been craving her for an eternity: his lifemate. Her warmth envelops him. Her scent pulsates. And with every beat of her heart, Teagan surrenders to a passion she can’t possibly comprehend.

Now they are bound by destiny, but is it enough to keep them safe from a stalking, relentless darkness that threatens to swallow them alive?

**********

Dark Ghost by Christine Feehan is an amazing book.  Imagine having a soul mate out there. One person who is the other half of yourself.  Who will stop at nothing to protect and cherish you.  That is what Andre and Teagan found when they found each other.  The instant pull was to hard to ignore.
Teagan was running for her life.  Getting betrayed by a friend was not in her plans.  She was on a trip looking for a stone that will help heal a loved one.  calls on a friend to guide her into the Carpathian Mountains.  Little does she know that the man she calls friend is in fact a monster.  On the run she comes across a cave.  What lies inside will undoubtedly change her entire world.
Andre is a vampire slayer who no longer sees the beauty and colors the world holds.  He has no emotions.  That is until his soul mate finds him wounded.  When Teagan finds him, he feels the instant pull at his soul.  Colors and emotions come bursting forwards.  Both with issues they must face have no choice but to face them together.  Will giving into the passion they feel keep them safe?
This has to be one of the best Christine Feehan books I have read.  She gives her characters depth and intrigue.  I will be reading more of the Carpathian series.  I applauded Andre when he went after the men who tried to take his woman from his.  The sheer strength he possesses had me squirming in anticipation.

Review: Cat's Lair by Christine Feehan

Cat Benoit has finally escaped the past—and the man who was the source of her nightmares. She’s off the grid, underground but watchful, and creating a new life for herself in Texas, far from the torrid dangers of her native New Orleans. She’s safe. He’ll never find her this time. Cat has to believe that. It’s the only thing keeping her sane.

Yet she can’t escape the attention of Ridley Cromer, the instructor at the martial arts dojo where Cat takes lessons. She arouses the animal in Ridley—and something feral comes to life when their body heat rises. Cat is in no position to let her guard down with anyone, especially someone who could be endangered by her past. But Ridley has secrets of his own—secrets only Cat would understand. If she dares to trust him.

Smooth move Eli! (Ridley)  From the moment Eli (Ridley) enters everything is on fire…
Cat’s Lair is the 7th book in the Leopard series from Christine Feehan.  I have been a fan of Christine Feehan’s for many years and have loved each series she has brought out with Cat’s Lair being no exception.
Catarina Benoit lives a nightmare waiting for the one that should have protected her to pounce.  Every day she looks over her shoulder waiting to see Rafe Cordeau, the man she ran away from.  The man that she had believed to care for.  The man she knew if she stayed would maim her….or worse.
Ridley Cromer was a mystery.  He frequented the coffee house that Cat worked at as well as being the new self-defence instructor.  Everything about him was delicious, from his well-defined abs to his long sexy as hell back.   She couldn’t stop admiring him.
Catarina only ever had two types of dreams, the one where Rafe terrified her so much that she woke drenched in her own sweat and the much more pleasurable dreams that she had about Ridley where she awoke so aroused that it was nearly tempting to forget her rule of no relationships.
It’s not long before Catarina’s safe existence is in jeopardy and new lies come to life.  It’s up to Catarina to decide whether she can understand and forgive why Ridley aka Eli betrayed her trust.  If Cat is ever going to trust someone now is the time as she learns about love, forgiveness and trust.
The intensity of Eli and Cat’s relationship is so powerful with such pure love that was vividly displayed from the start.  The mixture of personalities is beautifully matched.   Between the silently strong and huge heart that Cat shows at every turn and the strong, calm and sexy as hell nature of Eli it’s enough to make you drool.
Eli’s rule for waking up and for going to bed is the best rule I’ve heard in a very long time!
This book is definitely one to be put on the to be read list ASAP.

Review: Dark Wolf by Christine Feehan

In Dark Lycan, Christine Feehan journeyed into the heart of the Carpathians, and into the souls of two lifemates stirred by the flush of passion and the threat of annihilation. In Dark Wolf, the breathtaking story continues as the bonds of family are imperiled, and the fate of two lovers lies hidden in the seductive shadows between life and death.

Skyler Daratrazanoff always recognized the miracle that was Dimitri Tirunul, a man beyond any dream that had ever engaged her nights. But she was human. Vulnerable. He was Carpathian. Nearly immortal. She was nineteen. He was an ancient. Yet she held half his soul, the light to his darkness. Without her, he would not survive. Caught between the two warring species, Dimitri has spent centuries hunting the undead to keep his people free, and humans safe. He had survived honorably when others had chosen to give up their souls. But now, marked for extermination by the Lycans, Dimitri found himself alone, and fearing for his life. But salvation was coming.

No Lycan would ever suspect someone like Skyler to dare mount a secret rescue operation. A teenage girl. A human of untested abilities. But she had something no one else had. She was predestined for Dimitri -- as he was for her. And there was nothing stronger for Skyler than her desire to see her life-dream come true. Whatever the risk.

What is that makes you want to read Christine Feehan? The plots, relationships, or is that you crave what the characters have? Christina Feehan keeps you enthralled with her books, makes you want more and more of what we (the reader)can't have. Takes you away for a little while to another destination. Dark Wolf is that book. It is about realizing that something that has always been in front of you is really what you want and need, and you will do anything to make sure that he lives. Dimitri is dark, sensual, beautiful, and powerful. One look at him and he can have you drooling on the carpet or floor. What a man! His soulmate is Skylar Daratrazanoff is a very proud and strong protector of her lifemate. Skylar knows that she is the only one who can save Dimitri Ms. Feehan's, Carpathians (male and female; and other siblings) are well loved and cherished in the heart of her readers.

If you haven't read any of her books you will regret it, for you are missing out on one of the most beautifully written love stories ever told in her books. You cry, laugh, share the joy, and the sex(love)in the books; you feel apart of the characters. That is what makes this such a great read.

A fast-paced, amusing, passionate, steamy novel of stubbornness versus lust. From the beginning of Dark Wolf, the reader is drawn into the tale of two strong personalities realizing that they are meant to be.The attraction between the two is sultry and intense.. Ms. Feehan keeps the reader's attention from the first chapter and does not let it go. When I found myself on the last page, the only thought running through my head was "more, please, more". I recommend this book highly.
