Just what I needed by Lorelei James

Trinity is a rebel artist who dabbles in all types of art, her past is one of those tragic stories of step mother ruining her life and her running away from home. She's lost her boyfriend, her friend ran off with a sexy rugby player and she's sitting all alone at the bar... when her ex walks in with the woman who wrecked her relationship on his arms, Trinity just wants to sink into the booth and disappear. Until HE walks in! Tall, Nordic Viking of a man who's lips just beg to be kissed. So she does. She wasn't prepared for how much that kiss would effect her.

Walker had a shit day and just wants a drink. What he didn't expect when he walked into the bar was a sexy little thing walking right up to him and planting a big kiss on him. He less expected to enjoy her company! Now all he wants is another night our with the sexy temptress. Too bad he doesn't know her real name, or have the correct phone number....

I love this series, I love Lorelei James even more. She never fails to deliver the sexiest hero's in her books! And her heroines are always someone you can relate to! This is a sexy, light read that will have you smiling and laughing along with the characters. Definitely a must read!

5/5 Review: What You Need by Lorelei James

The Lund name is synonymous with wealth and power in Minneapolis–St. Paul.  But the four Lund siblings will each discover true love takes a course of its own. . . .
As the CFO of Lund Industries, Brady Lund is the poster child for responsibility. But eighty-hour work weeks leave him little time for a life. His brothers stage an intervention and drag him to a seedy nightclub . . . where he sees her: the buttoned-up blonde from the office who’s starred in his fantasies for months.

Lennox Greene is a woman with a rebellious past, which she conceals beneath her conservative clothes. She knows flirting with her boss during working hours is a bad idea. So when Brady shows up at her favorite dive bar and catches her cutting loose, she throws caution aside and dares him to do the same.

After sparks fly, Brady finds that keeping his hands off Lennox during office hours is harder than expected. Though she makes him feel alive for the first time in years, a part of him wonders if she’s just using him to get ahead. And Lennox must figure out whether Brady wants her for the accomplished woman she is—or the bad girl she was.

To start, know that I'm a huge fan of Lorelei James! What I've read from her are some of the sexiest books I've ever read, so I was expecting this book to be filled with lots of sexy times between the two main characters. However, this is not like her other books. The story of Brady and Lennox is a true love story, meaning it's an actual story about 2 people getting to know each other, and I loved it!

Even though Brady and Lennox are complete opposites, and grew up completely different, they manage to bring out the best in each other. Lorelei write this story beautifully and has out done herself. I love it when an author shows they can write different styles of books! (Not that there's anything wrong with one style!)

Lorelei's new book is fun, flirty, wild and brings the sexy to Geeks! This is definitely worth the read!

5/5 Review: Wrapped and Strapped: A Blacktop Cowboys Novel by Lorelei James

Flower child, vegetarian and humanitarian Harlow Pratt and gruff and strapping cattle ranch foreman Hugh Pritchett have been taunting each other for years. Hugh thinks she’s nothing but a spoiled rich girl, and he’s had enough of that life with his ex-wife. Harlow thinks Hugh is an ill-mannered trouble-maker who wouldn't know fun if it bit him on his tight denim-clad butt.

When they’re forced together at the Split Rock Ranch and Resort, everything changes. They might be polar opposites, but working out their differences skin to skin, in the dark, seems to help their incompatibility a lot. But when trouble from both their pasts comes calling, Harlow and Hugh have no one else to lean on. Can they trust one another enough to make it through the hard times together… or will their tentative truce fall apart?

Wrapped and Strapped by Lorelei James has turned into a favorite of mine.  The range of emotions throughout this story was incredible.  It was hot and spicy one minute and tear jerking sad the next.

Hugh Pritchett was a man who was on his way to healing when he met Harlow Pratt.  He went through an awful divorce after living in misery with a wife who broke him down.  She was vindictive, mean, and cold hearted.  When he divorced her and shed the weight he gained during that trying time in his life, he was on the mend trying to piece himself back together.  When he met Harlow, he had an instant dislike and for her yet the lust was just as strong.  He considered her the spoiled living off of her dads money, not really realizing how passionate she was about her humanitarian pursuits.

Harlow Pratt, has arrived at the Split Rock Ranch and Resort with the intensions of looking after her pregnant older sister.  After losing their mother at a young age because of complications that arose after her pregnancy, Harlow has a fear that the same thing with happen with her sister.  In order to look after her without letting her know that was the reason she had said she needed a summer job.  That was where she met the broody yet handsome foreman, Hugh Pritchett.

They start of on the wrong foot, always insulting each other yet lusting after each other.  Once they call a truce, things change.  They get to know each other and finally act upon their attraction.  Things go bad after and Harlow leaves.  Three years later fate brings them back into each others path.  Having to return to the Ranch to take care of her father, things start to heat up between Hugh and Harlow.  He was a jerk three years ago and is trying to make up for it.  They get closer to the point of falling in love with each other.  They must work out how to stay together.  She is a wonderer and never in one place for too long.  She does not see the ranch as her home.  What are they to do?

OMG!!!  I loved this story.  I recommend it to all western romance fans and those who are not, just might become one.  I found this story both sweet and spicy.  Both having to work on their issues from the past.  It wasn't long before they both realized that the only way they can completely heal from past traumas is to do it together.  Definitely worth more than just the five stars.

4/5 Review: Stripped Down A Blacktop Cowboys Novella by Lorelei James

Never challenge a cowboy to a little naughty competition…

A flirty game of sexual truth or dare between best man, Wynton Grant, and maid of honor, Melissa Lockhart during their BFF’s wedding reception results in a steamy hookup.

But their plans for a one and done change when a family crisis leaves Wyn shorthanded at the Grant Ranch. Experienced horsewoman Mel volunteers to help out and gets way more than she bargained for living under the same roof as the sexy rancher. Playing house has never appealed to Wyn…until now.

But the feisty redhead is keeping secrets and Wyn’s not above stripping her bare—body and soul—to get to the bottom of it…

**********

This is my first 1001 Dark Nights read.  But, I will be looking into them now!  Lorelie James, brings us Stripped down from the Blacktop Cowboy Series (another series I will be looking into as well!)  It wasn't necessary to read the Blacktop series to enjoy this short hot cowboy romance.

We meet Melissa (the Maid of Honor) and Wyn (the best man) at Wyn's brothers wedding.  They both are super hot, super sexy and enjoy a sexual adventure.  For a short read - the characters are surprisingly fleshed out and the story keeps you turning pages to see what they get up to next.  Will the short time they spend together change them for the better or will they be on to their next conquests?  Definitely worth the time, and I am sure going to be looking into the series after this quick ride!

Lorelei James BOUND Interview & Giveaway

If you could live back in time, what time period would you choose and why?
Actually I’m too much of a modern convenience-loving girl to live back when there wasn’t heat or TV or grocery stores or antibiotics. I’d like to live in the “Star Trek” universe though—that would be some fun.

Have you ever come across a song that might fit the theme of one of your books?
Funny thing is, I use a lot of song titles for my books, a LOT, so sometimes I take the song titles and turn them in to books. Nice twist, eh? My goal is to someday write a book entitled, “Love in an Elevator.”

Do you remember what you felt when you had your first kiss? First French kiss?
Yes, I thought it was cool, but a little slobbery. I remember his name but I know I wasn’t his first kiss ‘cause he was a player.

What was the most creative pick up line you've ever used on someone or someone used on you?
When I was waiting tables during the motorcycle rally and a guy—a biker—(I live 30 miles from Sturgis) said, “You look like my third wife.” I said, “How many times have you been married?” He said, “Twice.”

When writing do you have a playlist of music you like to listen to? What are a couple songs on it?
I can’t listen to music when I write so…but it really depends on what genre I’m writing what type of music I listen to. When I’m writing a contemporary western I listen to country, when I’m writing a contemporary erotic I listen to a variety from pop to rock. And when I write a mystery I listen to metal.

What do you do when you think nobody is watching?
Sometimes I sneak a hit of bourbon. KIDDING. I’m more of a vodka chick. Also kidding. I guess I…crack my knuckles.

What was your favorite childhood book?
The “Little House” books—hey, I’m a South Dakota girl, so Laura Ingalls Wilder is one of my peeps. Oh, and Nancy Drew. She had a cool car, a college boyfriend, great friends and a penchant for trouble.

What is your favorite addition to chocolate?
Oreos and peanut butter M&Ms. My mouth loves them, but my hips, thighs and behind are currently protesting that love affair.

What does your husband/significant other say about your writing erotic stories? What about your family and/or do they read your books?
My husband is very proud of me and takes the “you MUST be a very lucky man” ribbing in stride. My daughters read my mysteries (I write those under the name Lori Armstrong) and my 21 year old has read a few of the erotics. They are very proud of me and the older daughters tell me their friends are big fans, which is fun. My parents are also supportive, but again, erotic isn’t their thing—although they do read the mysteries. What also amuses me is many of my parent’s friends read my erotic books and they keep telling my parents to read them!

Besides your own, what is one of your favorite series to keep up with?
“In Death” series by J.D. Robb, anything by Kresley Cole, J.R. Ward.

What do you think you would be doing if you weren't writing?
I’d probably be working in the family firearms business—no lie.

Do you have any hobbies or activities you enjoy doing?
For years every bit of free time has been soaked up by kid’s activities (music, dance, jujitsu). With only one daughter left at home, if I’m not working, I’m usually at her cheerleading events (she is a competitive and varsity side line cheerleader) like basketball games or at orchestra events. I love going to the rodeo and I’m a HUGE fan of mixed martial arts. I watch umm….a few, okay A LOT of matches on Spike TV.

What is something you do to de-stress?
Read. I’ve been doing yoga off and on for almost 20 years.

We all know about muses...what do you think inspires you to allow your creative juices flowing?
It’s usually not just one thing. I never wait for the muse to inspire me to work. It’s much better to get to work and find that inspiration to keep going in the work itself. When the story unfolds in a way I hadn’t planned—that’s very inspiring to me.
