5/5 Review: Prowled Darkness by Carrie Ann Ryan

If you don't know the genius that is Carrie Ann Ryan you should read all her books, and quickly!!! I love her wit, sense of humor, brilliant ideas, intelligent plot and developed characters. Her books are unique and so is this one. It is the 7th one of the series, but I selfishly hope it's not the last one. Full of surprises, hot romance and adventure it made me cry, laugh out loud!!! And generally made me feel very emotional. No stalling moments, no boring pages, just BRILLIANT as all of her books.. Eliana Sawyer one of the seven lightning struck women had been dating, Malik Ward a lion shifter. Only she didn't know that at the time, she assumed he was a human and thought he was her mate. She couldn't be more right.

WOW!! OH WOW!! edge of your seat Paranormal. I absolutely loved every minute of this book! I don't do well in suspenseful situations and yet, I was unable to put it down. The story just captured me.. it sucked me in, and wouldn't let go! I can not say enough about the intensely powerful writing of Ms.Ryan.. It is gripping and intense and honestly, her books should be considered for movies, these stories would keep the viewers forever on the edge of their seats.

Once again, Ms. Ryan hands us a cast of characters that are passionately human. We are never quite sure who the good guys are, who the bad guys are and who is just human. Who makes bad choices for good reasons and who makes good choices for bad ones. Flawed individuals with painful, heart wrenching, secrets in their pasts. People that need to learn how to trust and really who to trust.
I prefer character-driven stories and Carrie Ann Ryan delivers this type of story with a generous helping of cohesive plotline. Add into the mix, a conflicted world of magic and love and you've got the recipe for a fantastical world that Carrie Ann Ryan lives in.

I'm not going to give out spoilers. I dislike reading reviews where the person spews out every last detail of the story but suffice it to say; Kate decides who is important to her in her life... and really, goes into action without much thought to her own safety. I enjoyed the tension in this story and the tightness of the writing was a delight to read. I could envision what was happening from the descriptions on the page and there are scenes that I could swear I could smell and taste the surroundings.

Bottom line, if you like lots of action and a heroine who isn't a damsel in distress, this book is for you. I would read this series from the beginning instead of starting with this book; you'll enjoy it even more.

4/5 Review: Written in Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan

There's nothing worse for a writer than missing a deadline. For Griffin Montgomery, his failure to do what he loves comes at a blow. He didn't understand how it was affecting his life until his well-meaning family intercedes. His sisters have hired him a new personal assistant and he's outraged--that is, until he sees who it is.

Autumn Minor is light on her feet and a bare memory for most people she meets. She does her best to blend in everywhere she lives, even if it's only for a short period of time. Making sure no one truly notices her is the only way she's survived this long. Only when she meets Griffin and the rest of the Montgomerys, she's afraid she won't be able to let go when its time to run.

Though the two begin a tentative but explosive relationship, they know it can't last forever. Neither of them are made for the long haul when it comes to love and romance. When the demons from Autumn's past find her and put both their lives at risk, Griffin will stop at nothing to protect her. In the end, though, he'll be the one who needs a second chance.

This is the 4th Book in  in the Montgomery Ink series and I love them all. All of the men are Alpha's of course but Griffin  is tatted with a beard 100% male.I love how he kept Autumn on her toes. The chemistry between them is off the hook and the idea of leaving is getting harder and harder. he kept her thinking and challenged. It's a great fun read and will have you laughing out loud. Especially when Griffin throws a tantrum  when he gets mad..I love Carrie Ann Ryan books and this is definitely one of my TOPS for her!!

I have loved each book in this series but Griffinis by far my favorite! I loved his sexy and at times humorous dialogue, he is a smooth talking Alpha male who was hot hot hot! I loved the way he protected Autumn but was still hard-edged when it mattered, they were wonderful together & the sexy scenes were great. I enjoyed the suspense and the romance scenes and getting to meet new characters. The story moved at a quick and even pace, with an interesting and enjoyable plot. I like when you read a series and get to see glimpses of past characters, kind of like catching up with old friends,

Carrie Ann Ryan has delivered yet another great romantic suspense. Stockpiled with suspense and passion, Written in Ink  kept me reading dying to find out the truth! I could re-read Griffin and Autumn's story again and again and I'll be intently waiting for the rest of the series upcoming stories! I can't recommend Written in Ink  highly enough! I could go on and on about this book, but it's better for you to just go buy it and read it. You don't have to read the other 3 books to understand this one...although I would recommend that you do because they are really good as well!!

5/5 Review: An Alpha's Choice (Talon Pack book 2) by Carrie Ann Ryan

Brynn Brentwood has spent the whole of her life protecting the Talon Pack through terrors only she will ever know. She's never asked for more in life other than to live to take her next breath and to ensure her family is safe. Regardless of her selfless wishes and the atrocities the former Alpha committed, she has always known that fate would provide for her as it had countless others. Fate is what has carried her through with one exception--upon meeting the one wolf who could be hers, he doesn't feel their bond.

Finn Jamenson has been broken more than once, left beaten and half dead--and that was before he was an adult and Heir of the Redwood Pack. When called upon to work with their allies, the Talons, he finds himself intrigued with a woman who his wolf doesn't claim as his own. Though he knows there could be something there, he refuses to tempt himself with a wolf who could never be his when his own mate could waiting for him.

The world changed in a blink of time and now the two wolves must fight as one--ignoring the burning temptation between them--when their people are threatened. With one wrong move, their homes could be destroyed and its up to Finn and Brynn to save them all...if only they could save themselves.

*********

What can you say about a book that has left you speechless???  This story had me in tears.  Brynn is a dominate wolf in her pack even though she does not have a specific role she has been one of the wolves protecting the pack.  She is in love with the alpha heir of the Redwood Pack.  She feels the bond pulling her towards her mate every time Finn is around but loathes that he does not feel it.  With the danger they face from the humans after their presence became known; They were thrown together as the faces of the pack to show the humans how harmless they are.
Things take a huge turn for the worst when they start getting attacked.  They have to work together to save not only their packs but the love they feel for each other.  Finn's wolf is not letting him feel the mating bond he has with Brynn but he will do everything in his power to prove to her that they can make it work.
The tears kept pouring as i turned the page.  The pain, the love; It was all so raw.  Carrie has such a fantastic way of writing that it is difficult to put down one of her books.  I recommend this book to all paranormal lovers.

4/5 Review: Abandoned and Unseen (Branded Packs) (Volume 2) by Alexandra Ivy and Carrie Ann Ryan

Abandoned
When bear shifter, Anya Tucker fell in love with the wrong man, the only thing she left with was a broken heart--and her two bear cubs. Now she's mended her wounds and learned that in order to raise her babies she can only trust herself. When her sons meet the lazy cat next door and fall heads over tails for him, she'll do whatever she takes to protect them--even from a past she'd thought she'd left behind.
Cole McDermott is a jaguar on a mission. Long naps, a willing woman, and a full stomach is usually all he needs when it comes to relaxing after a long day of protecting his Pack. Then he meets Anya and the burn of temptation is silky and tantalizing indeed. When a horror from Anya's past threatens everything she loves, Cole will put everything aside and fight for her family--as well as his own.

Unseen
Nicole Bradley had no reason to live after the humans murdered her son. Not until she learns to hunt down those responsible for his death. Shifting into her wolf form at night, she slips out of the compound, determined to do as much damage as possible. The last thing she expected was to discover secrets that could destroy the SAU.
Polar shifter, Tucker Stone, lives off the grid. It's the only way the Unseen can avoid being rounded up by the humans and tossed into a compound. Besides, he's a loner by nature. But he can't walk away when he sees the pretty female wolf in danger. Risking exposure, he takes her to his hidden den and tries to heal her wounds.

Abandoned and Unseen by Alexandra Ivy & Carrie Ann Ryan is Branded Packs book 2.  It is about two couples; Anya Tucker and Cole McDermott, Nicole Bradley and Tucker Stone.  In Abandoned we meet Anya, she is a bear shifter and the mother of two cubs.  Her bear pack has been moved into a new compound by the SAU.  Her boys continually sneak out of the house and run off to play in the woods.  They usually end up at Cole’s tree and attack his tail.  Anya is constantly irritated with Cole, but I’m pretty sure she is fighting her attraction to him.  The shifters are kept in compounds where they are collard and branded to show what type of shifter they are.  The SAU does this to show that they are being controlled and little more than animals.  The SAU is another branch of government that came up when a virus killed off tons of humans.  This branch of government controls the shifters and keeps them caged so that they can run experiments on them and make their own shifters.  Anya fell for the lies of a scientist who made her believe that he sympathized with her and what the shifters were going through.  He disappeared after she became pregnant, until he came back and took the two cubs.  Can Cole and Anya work together to retrieve the cubs and realize that they are perfect for each other?

In Unseen, we see a familiar character pop up again, Tucker.  He has been a behind the scenes kind of guy so far and I love that he gets his mate.  Nicole lost her son in a very tragic manner and has been getting revenge since it happened.  On the verge of completing her vengeance she runs into a bear that seems hell bent on keeping her from completing it.  He realizes that she needs to complete what she set out to do but she ends up in a lot of trouble and Tucker must do everything he can to save his mate. Making sure that his cover is not blown he has to make a plan that will save her and allow her to stay with him.  I can’t wait to see what else happens in the Branded pack and their journey to freedom.
