4/5 Review: Sinner by Eve Langlais

Sinner is the second book in Eve Langlais’s Space Chronicles.  I haven’t read the first book (which will be rectified shortly) but I didn’t have any issues understanding the story line or felt like something was missing.

The story is filled with twists which are amazing.  You think you know what is going to happen and then next …. wham; it’s completely different.  I laughed, wanted to kill people and was on the edge of my seat in my places but loved the book all the same.

Until I read the blurb I thought we would have been introduced/followed another couple but in fact it’s a continuation of Rafe and Emma.  The book begins with a very disorientated Rafe who has forgotten who he is.  While he tries to remember what has happened and who he truly is Emma has found her own adventure.  What would adventure be without getting into some sort of trouble; Emma finds herself being auctioned off to the highest bidder.

This book has everything you could ask for; romance, sexy main characters, bad guys, mischief and mayhem and that cute little addiction of not being able to put the book down until its finished.

The Geek Job by Eve Langlais

The Geek Job is by the talented Eve Langlais and she really outdone herself in this book.  I have grown to love all of her stories since finding her as an author not that long ago and this story had all the usual ingredients and more!

Lexie is a feisty werewolf who also just happens to be a bodyguard, certainly not the usual female character you find in books.  She is tough and knows how to get what she wants and doesn’t let anyone stand in her way.

Anthony comes from the polar opposite of Lexie.  He is essentially the Geek.  He is a scientist and brilliant at doing his job.  He is also the person Lexie is supposed to be protecting.  These two are made for each other.

The story has many twists and I loved how everything played out.  Anthony was supposed to be researching information about the local vampires but instead falls head over heal with his protector.  He also knows something has to change, he wants to be worthy of her.  What else would a scientist do in this situation but to find a solution to be her equal.

Loved everything about this book and if you haven’t read this book, grab it!! Don’t wait.

4/5 Review: GROWL -by Kate Douglas, AC Arthur, Eve Langlais (Anthology)

Legal Wolf's Mate by Eve Langlais

Gavin is a high powered attorney who just so happens to be a werewolf. When his good friend and fellow were animal Broderick begs him to help a seemingly innocent women who's being accused of murder. When she shows up at Gavins office, he's unprepared for the instant connection he feels with her, something powerful pulls him towards her and he hasn't even said a word to her! Now he'll do anything to protect his new mate, and do anything to convince her to be his.

Megan is a timid young woman who has no idea what happened the night she was framed for murder, and her state appointed lawyer just wants her to take the deal she's being offered. Then she runs into Broderick, who kindly offers his friends help, free of charge thank god, and she feels maybe she'll be able to win her case.

As the days go on, and weirder and weirder things keep happening to Megan, she must put her life in the hands of Gavins. All she has to do is resist the temptation of his sexy body and even sexier alpha maleness. Shouldn't be too hard, she's had enough hard headed men in her life, she should be able to handle being alone with him... right??

So I loved the plot here, it has action, romance, pure sexiness and of course twist and turns! Gavin is so not ready to give up his single life, but I love how Eve doesn't make his character a complete love sick puppy when he sees Megan. He's determined to show her that he can be good for her, and that they'll be great together. He's a bit cock some times, but I think that plays into the whole wolf thing.

Megan character is a little harder to grasp, while the thoughts going through her head portray that of a scared young woman, occasionally her actions make you wonder if she's hiding something from Gavin...

The only thing that I didn't like about this story was one particular plot twist. It felt like the author just woke up one morning and decided to change the entire direction of the story. Even though it was still well written and I enjoyed it, I felt like I read 2 halfs of different books.

Feral Passions by Kate Douglas

Cherry is dragged to Feral passions, an all exclusive resort angled towards women, by her sister and sisters best friend. She only agrees so they don't loose their money on the package they bought after their other friend backed out. She definitely didn't expect to fall in love with the outdoors, the mountains, the freedom and the resorts special attractions, the wolves that live on the preservation that the resort sit on.

Tracker Jakes is the head of Feral Passions resort. He came up with the idea of a ladies only resort that exclusively accepts only 6 women at a time. His hope is that his pack will be able to find mates. The pack is getting lonely as none of them have been able to find mates in years. All the members of his pack help run the resort, some one is bound to find their mate... right?

Brad and Cain are two of the resorts "employees" they both feel an instant connection with Cherry, one they've been waiting for for a very long time. They have 1 week to convince her that they're meant to be.

I love Kates books, and this plot was pretty good, and the story well written. But I had a hard time connecting to Cherry's character. I felt like I was reading a story about a teenager, not an almost 30 year old woman. I understand she's pretty innocent, but still...

Aside from that I enjoyed the story and am interested to see if she's developing a new series from this.

The Alpha's Woman by A. C. Arthur

Kira is an alpha female who refuses to take any crap from anyone. When her own pack turns on her, including her own father, she refuses to stay with them any longer and runs. She'd rather be a lone wolf than stay with them a minute longer.

Blaez is the alpha of his own pack, and when he finds Kira walking alone in the woods so close to the full moon, he decides he has to save her... by kidnapping her... he locks her in their fortress with his small pack, and tells her he refuses to let her go for her own safety. A lone female wolf can be claimed by any wolf during the full moon phase. While she knows the risk she took, she demands he let her go and not worry about her, but something inside him tells him not to let her go.

This was by far my favorite story of the three! It was creative, and a different take on the werewolf lore. I loved the members of his pack, and would very much enjoy reading about each of them finding their mates. I will definitely be looking her up and adding her to my to be read list!

5/ 5 Review: When An Omega Snaps (A Lion's Pride Book 3) by Eve Langlais

Leo is the calm guy. The nice guy. The one nobody screws with. So could someone explain that to Meena so she stops driving him insane—with desire.

When Meena literally throws herself at Leo and declares he’s her mate, his first reaction is to deny—and run far, far away. This lion/tiger mix doesn’t do drama and chaos. Problem is, once he sets eyes on her, he can’t help but want the vivacious blonde with plus-sized curves, perfect for a big man like himself.

He wants her even if it breaks all his rules when it comes to women.
Wants her even if she destroys his serenity.
Wants her more than a perfectly grilled piece of steak with a dash of garlic, pepper, and salt.

Thing is, someone else wants her too.

This poor omega is about to have his world turned upside down, which means everyone better watch out because when Leo experiences love, jealousy, and frustration for the first time, he doesn’t just snap—he roars!

When an Omega Snaps by Eve Langlais is such a funny and great read!  Meena is a tiger shifter who is a walking disaster.  She doesn't look for trouble but it seems to find her everywhere.  She was banned because a prank she pulled backfired, as did many of her pranks.  She actually got sent back to the pack that banned her because a disaster followed her home.  On a buying trip of seeds for her mother she came across a Russian mobster who was obsessed with her 'wide' hips and determined that she would help him make giant babies, whether she wanted to or not.  She sees Leo and 'accidentally' tosses her frisbee at his head.  She knows instantly that he his her mate.  Now she just has to make sure that he realizes he is her mate.  Leo is the packs omega and it's his job to keep the peace, even if cracking some heads together is what is needed to get the job done.  He quickly realizes that Meena really is trouble prone, but he also sees the way she hides the pain when someone comments on her size and accidents.  He quickly becomes infatuated with her and realizes that he needs to make it clear to the Russian who feels that she belongs to him.  After he stops being scared, he finally realizes that Meena may not wait for him forever.  I definitely need the next book to find out what happens to her twin sister Teena!

4/5 Review: When A Beta Roars by Eve Langlais

Hayder has met his mate. Just one problem. She's allergic to cats.

How degrading. Stuck babysitting a woman because his alpha said so. As Pride Beta, he has better things to do with his time, like washing his impressive mane, hunting down thugs for fun, and chasing tail--sometimes his own if his lion is feeling playful.

But his babysitting job takes an unexpected turn when the woman he's assigned guard duty over turns out to be his mate.

A female threatened by an outside wolf pack.

A woman he wants to call his own.

A mate who doesn't fall for his charm.

Usually Beta's leave the roaring to the Pride's alpha, but in this case given his level of frustration, he might have to make an exception. And if anyone doesn't like it, they can kiss his furry tail.

Rawr!

I really loved When A Beta Roars and the connection between Hayder and Arabella . Both characters are upstanding, genuine individuals with high moral values. This allows them to use better judgment and connect both physically and emotionally. As a couple, they made me swoon. Additionally, the supporting characters add depth to the rich story. Luna and Leo were a perfect addition to the story.

The story was good, it was fast paced with a bit of a twist and kept me interested right through the read. We meet some of Hayder's pack who are fun (and maybe a little weird!!) and Arabella brother who I could happily throttle!
Luna and Leo are a real couple of characters and I'm looking forward to their stories!!

Another fun quick read by Eve Langlais. Lots of humor and just an overall great basic read. Ms. Langlais. is consistent with her style of writing and comes up with another winner. I like that the story ends and gives you a hint about the next book. Well worth the time. If you are looking for a short quick read this is the book for you.
