Circle of Desire ( A Damask Circle Book 3) by Keri Arthur

A TEMPTING FATE

Two children have been found dead, their souls torn from their bodies. Two more are missing, and Ethan Morgan’s niece is one of them. A dedicated cop, Ethan has every intention not only of bringing her back alive but of catching the monster behind these kidnappings. And he will use anyone and everyone to achieve those aims—even a crazy woman who claims to be a witch. But time is ticking. The victims rarely stay alive for more than seven days. Four of those days have already passed.

In ten years of working for the Damask Circle, shapeshifter Katherine Tanner has never come across anything that goes after kids the way this monster does. The last thing Kat needs is interference from a cop who has no idea what he’s up against. But the greatest threat to Kat may come not from the forces of darkness, but from the man she is beginning to love. Because Ethan is a werewolf . . . and the full moon is rising.

Keri Arthur has done it again.Circle of Desire perfect,I felt like I was finally becoming familiar with the world and the characters. I wasn't hooked during the first book until the very end, but the momentum flows into this book so it ended up being quite an entertaining ride. I'm still not totally in love with the characters yet, but I think it has potential to grow over time. I am particularly found of the pairing of Kat and Ethan. Some of their interactions are a bit predictable and I think I have a sense of where the relationship is going, but I appreciate that the author didn't rush it.

Circle of Desire proved to be well worth the read. I enjoyed the action, character relationships, and world building that has made this series unique from others I've read. The story progressed further in most areas and came to a satisfying conclusion, even if it was expected to end on another cliffhanger. The Damask Circle series is excellent and not one to miss if you enjoy the urban fantasy and paranormal genres. I'll be ready for the next book in the series. The novel can't come fast enough, as far as I'm concerned!
