As Nurse Edie Spence embarks on her latest supernatural adventure from Cassie Alexander, the perils of the deep threaten to pull her under…
Edie Spence is in desperate need of a vacation—some R&R away from the craziness that shadows her as a nurse dealing with paranormal patients. But as she and her shapeshifter boyfriend, Asher, set sail on a cruise for Hawaii, they’ll realize that seasickness isn’t the only thing threatening their romantic getaway….
While on board, Asher comes face-to-face with Nathaniel, an old nemesis from his dark past. Asher is convinced he’s up to no good…especially when passengers start to come down with a mysterious illness unlike anything Edie and Asher have ever encountered. Soon Edie finds herself fighting for the life of the one person who means the most to her—Asher. As chaos explodes, will Edie be able to save their future together…or will this close encounter with the paranormal side be her last?
I can hardly remember the last time I derived so much pleasure from reading about a fictional relationship between two characters. Asher and Edie are worthy of each other and have grown immensely throughout the books. Their mutual devotion, respect and real, unsentimental yet heartbreakingly beautiful love for each other are all reflections of the characters themselves, and of the writers' unique ability to create a fictional relationship that is complex, tense, challenging, and incredibly satisfying. This is a perfect example of two people meant to be together, not because of their attraction, but because of their desire to give everything they have, commit themselves completely to giving their love a chance. Despite Asher's past mistakes, he and finally reaches a point when he realizes that he worthy of Edie. They become a partnership. They accept each other completely, issues and all (and are given some hilarious dialogue in the process). Their relationship is a beautiful thing to behold and I love reading about it.
This is one of the most exciting, fast paced books I have read in a while. I don't want to ruin any of this for you, but this is an awesome plot. There are so many crazy things going on ,you never know what will happen next.
I would give DeadShifted 10 stars if I could because it was perfection from beginning to end. I also think the ending was perfect, a little sad, but mostly happy. Cassie Alexander can do no wrong because she is consistent in her awesomeness. You can tell this author never gets tired of her work. She has found her calling. If that doesn't make you want to read this book, I don't know what will. Extremely recommended. I can't say enough good things about this book. If you liked Urban Fantasy you will love . I hope we get many more. A great fantasy, a great romance, and a thrilling story. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
