Defiant in the Viking's Bed by Joanna Fulford

I absolutely loved this book! It reminded me of Johanna Lindsey's books.  Believe me this is a good thing. We have Leif Egilsson a proud Viking Warrior, who first meets our Heroine Astrid after Astrid and the future Queen were kidnapped.  Astrid and Leif become very close and begin to have feelings for each other. He wants her to come live with him as his Mistress.

Astrid is called away by her Uncle to marry an evil man.  Leif has holdings near by and follows her still thinking of the time they spent together.  When Leif is informed of an impeding attack on his holdings, he sneaks to Astrid to carry her away.  That is when he is taken prisoner and made into a slave.  He is made to believe he was betrayed by Astrid and vows revenge on her.

Leif is freed by his clansmen and kidnaps Astrid to take his revenge on her, not knowing that the things she said was to protect him from being killed.  Leif makes her his slave, vowing that she will also be in his bed. Leif begins to see that Astrid is not the monster that he thought.  The couple begin to renew their relationship and Astrid ends up pregnant.  Leif doesn't want the baby for fear of what happened to his first wife.

Astrid flees knowing there is no future with Leif.  Will he come after her or will their fairy tale romance have a happily ever after ending.  You will have to read it to find out.

  1. Defiant in the Viking's bed was good. It focused on the main characters in depth, which was great. Looking forward to a story about Finn and Erik.
