Styxx by Sherrilyn Kenyon

*Contains Spoilers*

I love Sherrilyn Kenyon's books.  This one was no exception.  I have been wanting to read about Styxx since I first started the series.  When I read Acheron, I literally hated Styxx.  When I read Styxx I found myself hating Acheron. I know this is not what Ms. Kenyon had intended so I had to remind myself repeatedly that there are two sides to every story and somewhere in the middle is the truth.

This book was Styxx's side of the story about growing up with Acheron and Rissa.  I thought Styxx was the favorite son and spoiled, I couldn't have been more wrong.  The fact that after all the injustice and horrible things that happened to him, he was still a good soul is amazing.  It broke my heart when the only father figure Styxx had ever known was killed trying to protect him.  This book focuses more on the past than the present.  It gives a lot of detail and shows us how Styxx became the man he is today.

When Styxx actually found someone to love in Bethany, it was so refreshing.  The pair had me shaking the book and yelling at them to just tell each other the truth about who you are!  When Styxx and Bethany ended up pregnant and happy I was thrilled.  I cried when Apollymi took that away from them.  This book had so many ups and downs that I couldn't stop reading it.  I hope to see more of Styxx and Ash together as brothers in future books!
