4/5 Review: A Cowboy firefighter for Christmas by Kim Redford

Warm up this Christmas with a sexy cowboy firefighter who knows how to ignite flames as well as put them out...

He's hotter than a wildfire
Trey Duval is a rancher, proud as can be of his Wildcat Ranch. He's also the top volunteer firefighter of Wildcat Bluff, Texas, the town that pulls out all the stops for its Christmas festivities.

City girl Misty Reynolds comes to Wildcat Bluff just in time to help Trey put out a suspicious fire, leading him to dub her his "Christmas angel." Unfortunately, Misty's past has left her with terrible memories of fire, and of Christmastime.

As the two are thrown together again and again, Trey finds himself wanting Misty more and more, and Misty feels stronger and braver when Trey is around. Though their trust grows slowly, their passion for each other is burning hot...

**********

Misty Reynolds is a Dallas city girl who pushes anything Christmas away from her life, so when she's offered a job looking into a possible arsen at a tree frame, she thinks it's the best time to get away from the big city and all the Christmas reminders around her. Little did she know that Wildcat Bluff is bursting at the seams with Christmas cheer and decorations at ever turn. Then Trey Duval jumps in front of her (literally  in front of her moving SUV!) And begs for help putting out a gas fire, another deep seated fear of Mistys, but his good looks and sexy body (did I forget to mention he wasn't wearing a shirt) pull her out of her vehicle to help him. Trey is a sexy cowboy firefighter that has Misty's tongue wagging, but can she trust him? Or anyone else in the small community? Everyone has a motive, and she was warned not to trust anyone!

Ok, so first things first, I was REALLY  excited to read this book, a sexy cowboy firefighter, what's not to love!? The author is very detailed with this story, the entire book is only a 5 day period and it's almost 400 pages long. I was really enjoying learning about all the characters and the town, and she makes thing easy to picture. However this is a romance, and I expect my romance books to have sex scenes in them... after all the build up, and all the details to each day, the sex scene fell completely flat, like 1 paragraph flat. 3 sentences. *sigh* ok, it's still a good story line and I'm curious to see how it ends, and maybe a better sex scene towards the end? Nope. The next sex scene is a mere 2 sentences! The end felt very rushed to me compared to the rest of the book, and the last page was definitely not how I imagined it ending, but maybe I'm crazy and feel time is important in a relationship.

So overall I give this a 4 out of 5, because I did like the story and the characters, I just wish the author would have kept the detailed story flowing during those important scenes, and made the end a bit more believable.
