Sara Humphreys Interview & Giveaway

What is one of your favorite Myths/legands to write about?
SH: I can’t pick a favorite because there are so many unique worlds to explore. In fact, my Amoveo Legend series has spawned two other series—Dead in the City is my vamp world and Princes of Hell is my demon and fae world. I’m greedy. I love all things paranormal.

If you could live back in time, what time period would you choose and why?

SH: I’d love to see what World War II New York was like. There’s something really romantic about that era and that generation and I’d love to live there for a week.

Have you ever come across a song that might fit the theme of one of your books?

SH: Definitely. For UNCLAIMED the song Wanted by Hunter Hayes really hit the nail on the head but then again so did Battlefield by Jordin Sparks.

Do you remember what you felt when you had your first kiss?

SH: Yes. I had a swarm of butterflies in my stomach and couldn’t catch my breath. It was beautiful torture.

What was the most creative pick up line you've ever used on someone or someone used on you?

SH: "So, where do you want to go for breakfast?"

When writing do you have a playlist of music you like to listen to? What are a couple songs on it?

SH: Music plays a big part in my creative process and I always put together a soundtrack for my books which I then post on the Amazon page. Two other songs that I used for UNCLAIMED were She Wolf by David Guetta and Skyfall by Adele.

What do you do when you think nobody is watching?

SH: I talk to myself. I know it’s weird but when I’m plotting or writing, it helps me to clarify my ideas.

What was your favorite childhood book?

SH: Charlie the Caterpillar

What is your favorite addition to chocolate?

What does your husband/significant other say about your writing romance novels? What about your family and/or do they read your books?

SH: My husband is really proud of me and one of my biggest cheerleaders. He only read part of one of them but has had to listen to me talk out storyline issues for hours. My entire family is extremely supportive and proud. Mysisters and my parents have read them—although my father did say that he skipped "the sexy parts" and that was fine with me. My brother likes to read certain scenes out loud and tease me about it. No danger of getting a swelled head in my family (

Besides your own, what is one of your favorite series to keep up with?

SH: Christine Feehan’s Ghostwalkers, Lori Handeland’s Nightcreatures, Terry Spears Wolves…I could go on forever.

What do you think you would be doing if you weren't writing?

SH: I own a public speaking training company, so I’d be doing that but I’m really glad I get to do both.

Do you have any hobbies or activities you enjoy doing?

SH: I’d love to get back to acting someday.

What is something you do to de-stress?

SH: I watch television and when I’m really motivated, I exercise.

We all know about muses...what do you think inspires you to allow your creative juices flowing?

SH: Music and quiet time in the car. That’s when I can let my imagination run wild.
