Short Excerpt Trust Me?

I turn to face him; he puts his other arm around me. We are in the same position as before when the last kiss attempt failed. My arms are tight around his neck, his arms around my waist. I look down. He lifts up my chin so I’m lost in his gaze. His hand goes back to my waist. He swallows; I think he’s as nervous as I am. He tilts his head and leans in … I back away quickly.

"What’s wrong?" he asks, looking hurt.

"Oh, no, it’s not you. I think … I might have garlic breath."

He laughs and pulls me back to him. "So do I." He pulls me in tighter, and before I know what’s happening, his lips are on mine. I give in and surrender to him completely.

This feels like one of my fantasies, only way, way better. He holds me tight as one hand moves from my waist to caress my cheek, kissing me softly but sensually. My hands move to the back of his head, and I grab a lock of hair in each hand. He moves our bodies so that I’m against the railing at the edge of the deck. He moves his hand from my waist to hold the rail as I still grasp his hair. The kissing becomes feverishly passionate; his tongue against mine as they intertwine with each other. Our breathing becomes faster and erratic. Our kissing becomes more intimate. We are in perfect sync with each other. I pull him closer to me, our whole bodies touching. My heart is pounding fast and hard. His hand moves from my face to the back of my head, pulling me tight. He moves my hair from the side of my neck, breaks our kiss and kisses my neck slowly and seductively. I sigh and breathe in a stuttering motion. I open my eyes to see the waitress standing there, gawking at us. I stiffen as I see her. He pulls back and looks at me. With my eyes, I gesture toward the waitress. He turns, looks, and lets out a little huff. He leans in towards me.

"Now that’s a first kiss," he whispers as he grabs my hand and leads me over to the table. I can’t help but smile.

Short Excerpt Love Me?

My nerves start to get the better of me, I start to feel nauseous; those darn pesky butterflies attack again. I’m not sure why I’m nervous, whether it’s the shoes making me unstable or whether it’s the memory of our first date, our first touch, or our first kiss that’s making me bashful.
I turn the corner to see him standing there with a bunch of red roses, in the suit that he changed into earlier, this time with a baby pink tie on. Behind him is that gorgeous waterfall cascading down the cliff with the lush greenery surrounding us. As I take a step closer, I hear music playing. "Thank You for Loving Me" by Bon Jovi. It’s our song. I feel my eyes welling up as all the emotion and love I feel for this man is becoming too much to bear.
His smile is beaming from ear to ear when I approach. Finally I reach him. He holds out his hand for me to take. I take it, and he pulls me into a tight embrace.
"This is perfect," I whisper.
"Perfection for perfection, my love." He kisses my cheek, and places the bouquet of flowers on the railing.

K E Osborn was born in September 1984 and raised in Adelaide South Australia. She had a love of writing throughout High School but went down a different path to Design instead. It wasn't until she had a vivid dream about a three car pileup that the characters of her first book came to life.

Interview:

1. What is one of your favorite Myths/legends to write about?

My genre is not about myths or legends, but I guess some of my favorites would be vampires, witches and werewolves.  I kinda like aliens too; I’m a bit of a Trekkie at heart, especially now that Chris Pine plays Captain Kirk.

2. If you could live back in time, what time period would you choose and why?

I don’t really think much about the past, I mainly would love to go to the future.  I’m a bit of a Sci-Fi nut, and would love to see flying cars and teleportation devices etc.  All a bit of pipe dream I know, but still it would be cool.

3. Have you ever come across a song that might fit the theme of one of your books?

Yes, when writing Trust Me? The Trust Me? Trilogy I couldn't get Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran out of my head. In the final scenes of the book, a particular section of the song kept playing in my head over and over, which gave me inspiration for the final scenes.

4. Do you remember what you felt when you had your first kiss?

About all I can remember is the name of the guy who gave me my first kiss and that it was in the car park of the drama centre at school.  

5. What was the most creative pick up line you've ever used on someone or someone used on you?

I’ve never used a pick up line but the funniest one used on me was “hi, I’m …….. and I’ve got a small dick and I’m bad in bed, will you go out with me”.  It worked; we were together for two years.

6. When writing do you have a playlist of music you like to listen to? What are a couple songs on it?

Actually when I am writing I need complete silence, I cannot even have the TV on in another room as its too distracting.  However, I do have a gigantic play list on my iPod and a couple of songs are Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran and Armageddon by Guy Sebastien.

7. What do you do when you think nobody is watching?

I have this ritual when I am on the toilet of slapping my thighs and playing a tune on them. Yes that’s right, I am a drummer and I’m weird.

8. What was your favorite childhood book?

CS Lewis – The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

9. What is your favorite addition to chocolate?

Coffee – I love a good mocha.

10. What does your husband/significant other say about your writing erotic stories? What about your family and/or do they read your books?

I don’t have a significant other at the moment.  My family are very supportive of my writing romance novels and yes, my mum actually edits them. So she would say that she reads it over, and over, and over and over.  

11. Besides your own, what is one of your favorite series to keep up with?

The Thoughtless Series by SC Stephens is my favourite series of all time.  I love her writing and the emotion that I felt when reading it.

12. What do you think you would be doing if you weren't writing?

Complaining about being a receptionist or something lol, I’d rather be writing..

13. Do you have any hobbies or activities you enjoy doing?

I enjoy going to dog shows and show dog training, reading in my spare time and going to the movies with friends.

14. What is something you do to de-stress?

Music with a capital M. Whenever I feel stressed I put in my earphones, turn it up and listen to my favourite songs.

15. We all know about muses...what do you think inspires you to allow your creative juices flowing?

Basically my creative juices flow from realistic dreams that I seem to have about the storylines of my books.  Each book has resulted from a dream that I had, and from that I have created the story around it.

PREFACE
I never guessed that I could die with a sea of faces surrounding me, all cheering for my death. A woman wearing a jacket dress made of brocade only laughed louder when blood splattered the low square neckline. Where is Arie? My time had come and I prayed she would finish me off quickly. The warm trickle of blood ran down my neck and chest, saturating the corset bustier of my gown. It seemed like a shame to ruin such a pretty dress. Strangely, I felt relieved the bodice was black and not a light color that would show a stain.
The fear of dying or more accurately, the fear of not existing, scared me stiff. Perhaps if I had satisfied this existential anxiety with faith I wouldn’t jump from panic to ambivalence. I should be angry at everyone who simply watched. They must think the gruesome display is part of the entertainment for tonight. After the bloody burlesque show I could hardly blame them.
Holly, I gave you the chance to leave. The telepathic transference hardly seemed relevant at this point. I knew if I’d never gone to the Hellfire Club, I wouldn’t be facing death now. Still, if my death meant the killings would stop it seemed justifiable.

1.What is one of your favorite Myths/legends to write about?
Well my earliest memories are of my grandmother reading Brother’s Grimm stories to me. I love fairy tales but I have plans next year for re-telling Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

2.If you could live back in time, what time period would you choose and why?
I’m not sure I’d want to go back in time to live in a particular time period. Not unless I could wear an invisible cloak while visiting ;) I’m too much of a sissy and do better behind my keyboard.

3.Have you ever come across a song that might fit the theme of one of your books?
Probably anything Euro-Gothic would be a good fit for the Ever After series.

4.Do you remember what you felt when you had your first kiss?
I could fib to you and say that it was memorable for all the right reasons. After all, I do write romance. But if I’m being completely honest it was memorable because it was wet and slobbery—kind of like kissing a German Shepard that smoked cigarettes ;)

5.What was the most creative pick up line you've ever used on someone or someone used on you? 
I think the most creative pick-up was when someone played a song for me at an open mic.

6.When writing do you have a playlist of music you like to listen to? What are a couple songs on it?

I sing very off-key 80s songs or early 90s alternative rock very loudly in my minivan.

I used to love the Choose Your Own Adventure series and just like every other kid that read them I had to read each option to fulfill my idle curiosity.

Wine

10. What does your husband/significant other say about your writing erotic stories? What about your family and/or do they read your books? 
My husband has never read anything that I’ve written. I had this discussion at a book signing once. A horror author said that his wife didn’t read anything he wrote either because she didn’t want to know all the creepy thoughts running through his head. I’d like to think my husband doesn’t read what I write because he doesn’t want to know just how steamy I can get ;) My father has been a big supporter of my writing and is always proud of my creativity no matter how spicy it gets. 

11. Besides your own, what is one of your favorite series to keep up with?
 I’m always reading Tiffany Reisz. Whenever she has a new book come out, I read it. I read a lot of Joey W. Hill. 

12. What do you think you would be doing if you weren't writing? 
If I wasn’t writing I’d probably be freelancing web design from home.

13. Do you have any hobbies or activities you enjoy doing?
I read way too many blogs. I wish I could say I had time for knitting or TV or gardening or cooking. Well that’s not true… I’m proficient at cooking but I don’t find it relaxing. I’m a complete brown thumb. I tend to kill things. My husband and I curl up to watch the Walking Dead. We’re so romantic. It’s hysterical. I hate being scared but I love scary stuff. It’s a catch 22.

14. What is something you do to de-stress?
Yoga ;)

15. We all know about muses...what do you think inspires you to allow your creative juices flowing?

Sometimes just recharging or taking a break—a hot bath, a glass of wine, those fifteen blessed minutes of silence when I can write without kids climbing all over me. ;)

1. What is one of your favorite Myths/legends to write about?
A. Eros (Cupid) and Psyche.

2. If you could live back in time, what time period would you choose and why?
A. After sixteen books, I’m not going to surprise anyone by picking the Regency era.  The architecture, fashions, and the notable celebrities of the time captured my imagination as a teenager, and I’m still enthralled.

3. Have you ever come across a song that might fit the theme of one of your books?
A. Something Vivaldi.  The Concerto for Violoncello in D Major, RV 403 seems appropriate.

4. Do you remember what you felt when you had your first kiss?
A. Yes.  Hot in the face and shivery.

5. What was the most creative pick up line you've ever used on someone or someone used on you?
A. Before I was married, a guy came into the jewelry store I was working at and told me that I was beautiful and asked me if I wanted to model for him.  I laughed off the compliment, but he assured me that he was an artist.  To prove it, he came back an hour later to show me his portfolio.  We’ve been friends ever since.

6. When writing do you have a playlist of music you like to listen to? What are a couple songs on it?
A. When I’m writing, I listen to classical music or movie soundtracks.  From the 2005 soundtrack of movie “Pride and Prejudice”, I enjoy listening to “Dawn” and almost anything Vivaldi, although the Flute Concerto in A minor, R. 108: I. Allegro is one of my favorites.

7. What do you do when you think nobody is watching?
A. I like to sing along with the radio.

8. What was your favorite childhood book?
A. I was a huge Nancy Drew fan as a kid.

9. What is your favorite addition to chocolate?
A. Caramel.

10. What does your husband/significant other say about your writing erotic stories? What about your family and/or do they read your books?
A. My husband and family have been very supportive about my writing.  Several family members do take the time to read my books.  I haven’t received any complaints about the sexy love scenes.

11. Besides your own, what is one of your favorite series to keep up with?
A. I love Lorraine Heath’s Scoundrels of St. James series.

12. What do you think you would be doing if you weren't writing?
A. That’s a difficult one to answer.  Before my first child was born, I was working as a medical technician in an ophthalmology office.  I really enjoyed the job.  I was also taking college classes at night with the goal of slowly working my way to a degree in art.  My priorities shifted when the kids were born and then we moved out of state—away from our families and friends.  I’m not sure what sort of job I would have pursued if my writing hadn’t taken off.  I probably would have started my own business.

13. Do you have any hobbies or activities you enjoy doing?
A. I love to cook.  It’s another way I can creatively express myself.

14. What is something you do to de-stress?
A. I like to play video or app games to unwind or I’ll read a book.

15. We all know about muses...what do you think inspires you to allow your creative juices flowing?
A. I think it’s important to keep refilling your creative well by filling it with music, art, movies, books, etc.  Sometimes it’s the oddest or most unassuming thing that can spark my creativity.

Review:
Alexandra Hawkin's Lords of Vice series is one you can sink your teeth into. Once you pick up the first book you will want to stop until you've read the rest. I have read now all 7 stories of the Lords of Vice, and with each and every book you watch these men go from players of their time fall in love and change for the better. This is one of my favorite series and I am sure I will continue to re-read each and every one of the books over and over again. Alexandra is an amazing story teller and so creative with her characters.

Twilight with the Infamous Earl is the 7th book of this series. It is about the final Lord of Vice, Lord Chillingsworth "Frost" and how he like is fellow Lords before him, fall in love unexpectedly. His reputation procedes him, and he now has to use his said reputation to figure out why young Emily Cavell is now up in arms trying to close the Lords of Vice's gambling hell...this firey red-haired beauty has no idea what she is getting herself into.

Emily is on a mission when she comes to London...confronting Frost and making him pay for ruining her older sister. But she comes to learn that the man isn't has cold-hearted and mean as his nickname reveals. Emily can not help but fall for him once their battle of wills and wits creates a buring desire that scares her. Now its time to see if he is willing to gamble with the chance of true love, or do the cards hold something else entirely.

I have read every Lord of Vice series and with each new book I kept wondering who was going to be the last. Sure enough it was Frost and this was the most thrilling way to see him and this series come to the end. BUT I love how with this book opens up for more oportunities with the new bloods coming into play. This is one of my favorite series and I am sure I will continue to re-read each and every one of the books over and over again. Alexandra is a creative writer and amazing story teller.

Her gaze drifted to his mouth as he spoke, fascinated by the way the scar pulled slightly at the corner. She felt a strong urge to kiss that corner, to run her tongue along the seam and dip between his lips, along his teeth.

He turned away, and she blinked herself back to reality. She couldn’t believe the thoughts that kept popping into her head when she looked at him.

He set off, and she rushed after him, thankful he couldn’t see the blush heating her cheeks. It was going to be a long month.

She caught up, practically jogging to keep pace with his long strides.

He looked her briefly up and down in an assessing manner that strained Alex’s nerves. “You don’t look like much of a sailor, and you’re too young to have any skill as a carpenter.”

She was surprised he hadn’t already uncovered her disguise. Her instincts warned her he wouldn’t be easy to fool, and she would be smart to keep her distance, even if distance was the last thing she wanted right now. Of course, it wouldn’t be a problem if he decided she wasn’t qualified to work on his ship.

“You’re wondering what possessed him to hire me. Perhaps he took pity on me, or maybe I’m better qualified than I look,” she replied haughtily, and immediately wished she could take the last part back. Now he might think she had some sailing skill.

He snorted, and she got the feeling amusement had replaced his annoyance, though his expression hadn’t changed.
“My guess would be pity. He sometimes has more heart than sense.” He sighed. “Despite some of his more—emotional—decisions, he’s a good first mate and has served me well. We’ll have to see how you fare." He gave her a slightly puzzled look. "There’s something about you though. I can’t quite put my finger on it."


Alex breathed a sigh of relief when they arrived at the tavern where she’d met the Adonis the night before. This time of the morning everything was quiet, and they had to wait a few moments before anyone came to see what they wanted.

A sour-faced woman entered the room, muttering about the hour and cursing under her breath. But after a quick glance at Nicholas’s face, she quieted and listened to his request. She told them which room the first mate was in then quickly disappeared through the door by which she had entered.

"Follow me." Nicholas climbed the stairs and knocked loudly on the appropriate door. He didn’t wait for an answer before pushing it open.

The Adonis slept soundly in the middle of the large bed that dominated the room. A blanket draped around his hips didn’t disguise the fact he was naked.

Alex had a difficult time deciding where to look. On his left, the pretty waitress from the night before was hastily pulling the covers up to her chin, while another woman on his right merely reached over to try to waken her bed partner, as though the appearance of two people at the door was hardly cause to cover up.

"I can see why he didn’t show," Alex muttered under her breath. She hadn’t meant to be heard, but apparently Nicholas had good hearing and laughed.

"Quite understandable," he said, still chuckling.

Meanwhile, the first mate opened his eyes and looked up at the captain. "Bloody hell. Am I late?"

Emma Kaye is married to her high school sweetheart and has two beautiful kids that she spends an insane amount of time driving around central New Jersey. Interview: 

1. What is one of your favorite Myths/legends to write about?
I’m working on a series now that involves the Three Fates. I’ve really enjoyed writing it.

2. If you could live back in time, what time period would you choose and why?
That would all depend on if I was able to choose my social class or not. Some of the time periods I love to read and write about would be a nightmare to live in, particularly if I were poor. If I had the power, I’d love to hop around in time and witness some of the great moments in history but still make it home for a hot shower.

3. Have you ever come across a song that might fit the theme of one of your books?
I’ve come across songs that fit a particular character, but so far none that fit the theme. I’m sure they’re out there, but I’m not always particularly attentive when I listen to music.

4. Do you remember what you felt when you had your first kiss?
Nervous! I was certain I was going to screw it up. Which I did. Thankfully, we’ve gotten better at it.

5. What was the most creative pick up line you've ever used on someone or someone used on you?
I’ve been with my husband since high school, so I haven’t had a whole lot of experience with pick up lines. The only ones I can recall were pretty cheesy and not at all unique. I’ve since seen some of them on TV shows when the main character is approached at a bar. Like the one about getting a doctor because it must have hurt when I fell from heaven. Yikes.

6. When writing do you have a playlist of music you like to listen to? What are a couple songs on it?
I don’t have a specific playlist per book. I basically put my iTunes on shuffle and if something doesn’t fit the mood of the scene I’m writing, I skip over it. A few songs that I never seem to get tired of are: Renegade by Styx, Set Fire to the Rain by Adele, Drive By by Train and Glory of Love by Peter Cetera, just to name a few.

7. What do you do when you think nobody is watching?
I’ll have to combine that with nobody is listening either, because I like to sing when I’m alone. Turn the music up loud and sing along at the top of my lungs. Believe me when I say I’m being nice to make sure I’m alone. I have a terrible voice (I sometimes wonder if my kids are tone deaf because they still like me to sing them to sleep.)

8. What was your favorite childhood book?
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The whole Narnia series, actually. I’m about to introduce these to my daughter. We’re both very excited about it.

9. What is your favorite addition to chocolate?
Peanut butter. Yum. Reese’s peanut butter cups, chocolate and peanut butter ice cream… 


10.Besides your own, what is one of your favorite series to keep up with?
The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon is one of my favorites. It’s a long wait between books though, so I’m glad I didn’t find the series until she already had four done. The wait just kills me. I also love the Dirk & Steele series by Marjorie M. Liu and I just got the second book in the Whisper Horse series by Nancy Herkness.

11.What do you think you would be doing if you weren't writing?
Watching TV. I’m very lazy. J Actually, at this point in my life, I’m a stay-at-home mom. If I weren’t writing, I’d probably feel the pressure (self-inflicted) to find some kind of part-time work while the kids are at school. I love being home with my kids, and I’m lucky to be able to do so. 

12. Do you have any hobbies or activities you enjoy doing?
I lean toward expensive hobbies, so I don’t do them as often as I’d like. One of my favorites is scuba diving. Since I can’t do that all that often, I like to read.

13. What is something you do to de-stress?
I read or watch TV, often both at the same time. A good book or show can take me away from my stress for at least a little bit of time.

14. We all know about muses...what do you think inspires you to allow your creative juices flowing?

I like to sit down with a pen and paper and start asking myself, what if…? I often end up somewhere completely different from where I started, but that’s the fun part! If that doesn’t work, talking with fellow writers always gets me going. Whenever I attend a meeting of New Jersey Romance Writers or have a conference call with my critique partners, I always feel inspired to sit back down at my computer and get to work. 

10 Fun Facts (things the fans don't know)

1. I have a motorcycle license.

2. I’ve had to go to the hospital while on vacation in Hawaii. (Just so you know, a doctor in flip-flops doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.)

3. I played saxophone in my high school marching band.

4. In college, one of my husband’s (my then boyfriend) roomates had a seven foot snake. I sometimes wore him around my neck at parties because drunk people’s reactions when they noticed him were hysterical.

5. I cursed like a sailor during a french exam in college but still managed to get an A. I believe the teacher gave me a pass because they were having problems with the recording device at the station next to mine and were fussing over it. Lucky me because I blanked.

6. I was on the equestrian team in college.

7. I once gave a workshop dressed like a figurine holding a basket and a teddy bear.

8. I share a birthday with my sister-in-law.

9. My last dog weighed 180lbs and wasn’t fat. (She was a very large Great Dane.)

10. I’ve watched Star Trek (the first one with Chris Pine) about a million times.

I loved this book, I mean how can you not.  Then again I love tattoos.  This was the first book that I have ever ready by Lauren Dane and it will not be my last.  That is how much I enjoyed the book.  When you want to reach through the pages and hug and comfort someone, it means the author is not one to be missed.

Raven Smith is a tattoo artist that had a crappy life growing up.  She was a orphan and even members of her extended family and neither did her foster parents.  This made it very hard to fully trust someone or to let them into her heart.  Jonah Warner came to Raven to Raven to get a tattoo on his back of a wolf.  He began to fall in love with Raven.  Raven began to slowly let Jonah into her heart.  When Raven's past comes to the present Jonah doesn't run.  He stays right by her side facing it together.

I loved this book on so many levels.  I mean how can you go wrong with sexy men being brought down by puppies at Christmas time. This book is a collection of three stories dealing with puppies and falling in love at Christmas time.  It was like the puppies drew everyone together and made them connect, kinda like a fairy tale.  I recommend this book for anyone that still believes in the magic of Christmas and that a dog's kiss can make all your hurts go away.

Pastels & Jingle Bells by Christine S. Feldman

I loved loved this book.  I mean who of us hasn't dreamed about the day they would run into the person that tormented us as a child.  The things we would say to them now that we were adults?  That is exactly what happens in this book.  This is a must read book, in fact I have read it three times so far, just because I loved it so much.

Trish Ackerly was working in her bakery when she spots Ian Rafferty.  The man that had made her life a living hell as a teenager.  Ian wants to hire Trish to paint some Christmas designs on his windows for his daughter.  Trish leaps at the chance to get paybacks on him for being so mean to her, the problem is he doesn't remember her.  The biggest problem of all is Kelsey, Ian's daughter is being bullied at school.  Trish puts all her past hurts aside and decides to paint the windows.  Kelsey and Trish paint the windows together.
When the mean kids ruin their painting Kelsey is devastated and Trish, understand the pain races to make repaint the window making it better then ever.

Wilde for Her by Tonya Burrows

This was my first time reading a book by Tonya Burrows and it will NOT be my last.  I absolutely loved how she created chemistry between Camden Wilde and Eva Cardoso.  The way she wrote the brothers interacting together had me laughing.  I could so see myself arguing with my siblings in the same way.

Camden has been in love with Eva since they were partners on the police force.  The big problem is that they are best friends and neither want to risk their friendship by taking a chance on their sexual tension.  While they were both at his brothers wedding the both took the next step in their relationship  and had crazy monkey sex :)  when they got back home they tried to ignore their sexual tension and get their friendship back.  Meanwhile Cam found out that he had a contract out on his head.  Cam doesn't want Eva involved even though she is a cop and wants to help him.  Can the couple realize they are meant to be together or will the contract be taken out on Cam before Wilde Security can solve the case?

Charley headed to the designated area in front of the forward elevator bank on deck eight. In case a good shot availed itself, she kept her camera bag with her. She reached inside the specially made backpack and felt her way to the camera sling. Her Canon EOS 5D Mark III was at the top and she dug for the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens and its EW-83F hood. Her hand wrapped around it and pulled it from its snug memory foam compartment. She walked up the one deck from their cabin while attaching the lens best suited for close, low-light shots.

Even only having seen that small percentage of the ship, she had to admit it was not at all cramped or claustrophobic. When she saw an officer talking to a group of passengers, she immediately clicked off a few pictures. He was tall. His chest and shoulders filled out the white uniform and he smiled easily at the three women who peppered him with questions while batting their eyelashes shamelessly. The youngest of the three looked to be at least ten years older than the sailor.

Charley zoomed in on his bright blue eyes and neatly cropped dark, curly hair. He seemed genuinely interested in what the women were saying. If she had to guess, the handsome officer must have known the passengers. She clicked several more pictures.

His eyes turned toward her. There was a moment of surprise, followed by a slow, private smile. Inside her lens he was so close he penetrated her comfort zone. Charley felt her cheeks flush and she took the camera away from her face.

He’d caught her with her hand in the cookie jar. She’d invaded his privacy and he smiled warmly across the expanse of blue carpet. But he didn’t look the least bit offended. Normally she asked people if she could photograph them, though spontaneous pictures always turned out better. Making a conscious effort to slow her heart and ignore her embarrassment, she felt her cheeks cool slightly.

The officer said his polite goodbyes to the ladies and walked over to Charley. "Miss Ballantine?"

"Yes." Immediately her cheeks flushed again. He smelled of a musky cologne, soap and man. What the hell was wrong with her? She shook herself out of her mesmerized state. "I’m Charlene Ballantine, sorry I’m late."

He frowned for an instant. "I was told Charley."

Her cheeks were on fire and her heart beat so hard that it was a wonder he didn’t comment on the infernal noise. "Charley is fine."

He held out his hand. "I’m Kyle Macintyre, the ship’s first officer. I’m assigned the task of showing you the bridge. The captain asked that I tell you what you may and may not do while aboard."

"They sent me a list of dos and don’ts." Her voice was a bit steadier.

There was that smile again. "Yes, I’m sure the line sent you a laundry list, but since you’re not part of the crew and you have had no shipboard training, Captain Cristou likes to make certain they’ll be no trouble."

She nodded dumbly, intoxicated by the deep, warm sound of his voice. "Who were those women?"

If the question surprised him he didn’t show it. "Mrs. Jones and her two daughters. They’re taking a family vacation."

"Do you know them?"

He cocked his head to one side. "I just met them. Why do you ask?"

She shrugged, wishing she could keep her mouth shut. She supposed the question was out of context, but she was curious. "It looked as if you knew them."

Turning the digital display on her camera around, she showed him the pictures she’d taken. He stood very close as she scrolled through the dozen shots she snapped while he was unaware. Her shoulder brushed against his arm.

The warmth of his body spread through her as if she were standing too close to a furnace. She’d lost her mind. That was the only explanation. Since her divorce, men had been the last thing she wanted. She’d spent a year in therapy trying not to think of them as the enemy and she’d made progress. She’d even gone on a couple of dates that hadn’t ended in disaster. But this sailor had an effect on her that none of the men she’d come in contact with had. Her pulse was tripping wildly and she thought running away would be a great idea. In fact, better to get as far away from Kyle Macintyre as possible. Unfortunately, that wasn’t an option.

He smiled brightly. "It does. You know, I’ve been doing this for so long, I’ve just learned that on a short cruise you don’t have much time to get to know people. I make friends quickly."

She took a step away from his arousing scent and warm body.

"I’ll bet you do." Sarcasm dripped from her words. She thought of looking around to see if her mother was behind her. No, it had been her. Shit.

He frowned, but was still so gorgeous she could barely look at him. "I think I should be insulted by the way you said that, Miss Ballantine, but I’m going to reserve my reaction until I know you better."

Interview: 
1.   What is one of your favorite Myths/legends to write about?
My first three books were about the End of Days. Researching all the Mayan myths was fantastic. Mayan Afterglow, Mayan Craving and Mayan Inferno and all filled with pre-Colombian mythology. 

2. If you could live back in time, what time period would you choose and why?
I think the turn of the last century. Everything was so new and the world was changing, though not quite as fast as it does today. Still, they had many modern conveniences like indoor plumbing. J

Wet and awkward. Thank goodness it got better. LOL

4. What do you do when you think nobody is watching?
I often have entire conversation for my characters. (Maybe I should have kept that to myself.) ;) 

5. What was your favorite childhood book?
Green Eggs and Ham. 

6. What is your favorite addition to chocolate?
Chocolate covered blueberries are pretty awesome but I’ll take my chocolate just about any way.

7. What does your husband/significant other say about your writing erotic stories? What about your family and/or do they read your books?
My husband tells everyone, he is the inspiration for all of my books. And of course, this is so. ;) 
My mom reads my books. She says, I write great sex. I try not to think about that too much. She also tells all her friends at the Senior Center about my books and hands out promo cards. That’s pretty adorable. 

8. Besides your own, what is one of your favorite series to keep up with?
Eloisa James has a series of historical romances based on fairytales. I love those. I’m also reading Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series.

9. What do you think you would be doing if you weren't writing?
I guess I would still be working in IT wishing I was writing. 

10. Do you have any hobbies or activities you enjoy doing?
I love to cook and garden. My husband and I teach an Italian cooking class near our home. We also really enjoy traveling. 

11. What is something you do to de-stress?
I love to cook and of course reading is a great escape from the stresses of the world.

12. We all know about muses...what do you think inspires you to allow your creative juices flowing?
That’s a good question. I’m inspired by so many things, the view out my window, the sweet things my husband is always doing, a funny story a friend tells… I never know what is going to make the muse show up. I’m blessed that she doesn’t leave me too often.
