The Human Side by Heaven Liegh Eldeen

                                                http://www.heaveneldeen.com/

This was a good book about fallen angels. It is a continuation to The Demon Side. In this story the main characters already knew each other. Even though it is a contination the author does a wonderful job of making sure the reader is not totally lost.

We have Etta who is a human and Rahovart who is an angel. Even though Etta doesn’t remember Rahovart, he remembers her. He watches over her and tries to protect her even though she has guardians. When Rahovart is sent back to earth to keep a closer eye on Etta; and to prove that they were ment to be together he jumps at the chance.

He is accompanied by Gabriel when he returns to Earth. Gabriel and Ra try to find out what is allowing the demons to cross over and torment Etta with nightmares. They soon realize that a portal is opening allowing the demons to come to the human realm. It becomes a battle of good ad evil ad Ra tries to protect Etta and win her love.

Blood Roses by Lindsay J. Pryor

This book is the second in the Blackthorn series. This was my first time picking up a book by Lindsay Pryor and I enjoyed it immensely. I will be getting the rest of this series. This is a time when humans and werewolves; vampires and witches all exist together but not in harmony.
Leila would do anything for her sisters. When Leila finds out her sister Alisha is missing and being held by vampires she has no choice but to head to Blackthorn and save her sister. Blackthorn is an evil place for humans but Leila goes there. Leila soon realizes that Caleb and Alisha have tricked her to save Caleb’s brother. To make matters worse Caleb won’t allow her to return to Summerton.
Caleb also senses that there is more to Leila then her just being a witch. He realizes that Leila is a Serryn, a special breed of witches that had been thought extinct. A serryns blood could kill a vampire. Caleb keeps Leila hostage to both scare her and protect her against the other vampires that would kill her for her blood.

Reflection Point by Emily March

I loved loved LOVED this book. Did I say I loved it? I had never heard of the Eternity Springs series before I read this book. I know that I want to read the rest of the series because everyone needs a little hope and magic in their life.
After Savannah lost the last person she truly loved and could count on, she decided that she needed a fresh start and moved to Eternity Springs. She meets Zach when she is trying to lay her grandmother to rest. Savannah instantly hates Zach because of her past and the fact he is a cop.
Everyone tells Savannah that Eternity Springs is a magical healing place and Zach is a great guy. Savannah just wants to open her store and make a new life for herself. As time goes on Savannah begins to fall in love with the town and its residents, but is afraid because of her secret. When unexplainable events start to happen to Savannah, she and Zach realize that they have to trust each other past or no past.

Darius by Grace Burrowes

I will have to admit that when I first started reading this book I wasn’t sure if I would like it. It turned out that I loved it! I want to read more from this author. The way Ms. Burrowes wrote it was if I could see every detail in my head. It also made me want to accept a hot toddy from Darius. If you like historical romance then I recommend getting this book.

Darius is the son of an Earl, he is not the first born. We know that after the first son the following sons don’t get anything. Darius is trying to put a roof of his family of, for a lack of a better word cast offs. So he has sex for money. Enter William and Vivian. William is an older man and approaches Darius with the chance of a lifetime. He wants an heir so he hires Darius to impregnate Vivian.

William has never gotten over the death of his first wife Muriel and knows it won’t be long be for he joins her. He wants to make sure that Vivian will be taken care of. As William gets sicker Vivian’s stepfather(whom she doesn’t trust) realizes that he will be in control of Vivian’s life after William is gone. Darius and Vivian realize that their month together has brought them closer then they ever thought possible. Darius will do anything to protect the people he loves.

Being Me by Lisa Renee Jones

                                                http://www.lisareneejones.com/

50 shade of Gray has nothing on Ms. Jones!! I had never read one of Ms. Jones books before Being Me. I can honestly say that I am glad I read it. I now have the rest of her books and I look forward to reading them. Everyone has some secret that they hide for some reason. The goal is to find someone who is strong enough to hold you up when you feel the world is letting you down.

This book is a continuation of the Rebecca Diaries so when it picks up our main couple Chris and Sara have already been on a date. Sara is working at Allure and she is trying to find out what happened to Rebecca whom she replaced at the gallery. Chris is an artist and he is also a Dom. Chris doesn’t trust Sara’s boss Mark even though they were once friends.

As Sara begins to look into Rebecca and now her friend Ella’s disappearance. The more she tries to find the truth the more Chris worries about her. Chris has Sara move into his apartment until they can solve the mystery. Through the story they find themselves falling love. Chris and Sara both have secrets that they wanted hidden they both realize that they have to learn to trust to make their love last.

Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

                                                  http://www.jamiemcguire.com/

This was a good book. For me it was confusing to start with. When the book started the author and talked about the circle and it took me to figure out that it was a fight ring. This book is suited for young adults. I loved how the author described the difference between vultures and pigeons. Vultures are the ones that are only around for a good time. They are not the ones that you would have a serious relationship with. Pigeons on the other hand are the ones that you would fight for because you know that it will be a lasting relationship.

The main characters Travis and Abby are both in the same college. Travis remembers what is mom told his before she died about Pigeons and Vultures. He also realizes that Abby is a Pigeon. Travis also knows that his reputation as a womanizer will come into play with his chances of winning Abby over. To win her over he suggests that they just be friends since her best friend is dating his cousin.

Abby is afraid to trust Travis but Travis is willing to do anything to let Abby realize that he is the right guy for her. They fights and arguments that these two have are so believable that it is like the author is writing from experience. To know that Travis finds and keeps his Pigeon is heart warming. The fact that Abby learns to trust Travis makes this book a great read!

Nautier & Wilder by Lora Leigh and Jaci Burton

Nauti Siren
This book is another hit in the Nauti series!!! I will admit that I am usually worried when cousins or half siblings are introduced into a series. I had nothing to fear when reading this book. Lora Leigh managed to introduce Dawgs half sisters without loosing the feel of the Nauti series and I loved that.
This story is about Piper McKay and Jedediah Booker. Piper is Dawg’s half sister and he is very protective of his family. Enter Jed, he is staying at the Inn that the McKay’s own. Jed and Piper have been yearning for each other. Piper is an artist and she is afraid to let Jed to close to her for fear that he will be over protective like her brother. This doesn’t stop the sparks from flying between the two of them.
Jed doesn’t want Piper to go very far, he wants to protect her for fear of backlash from the bad guys after the McKay’s. Piper decides to sneak out one night because she has gotten the opportunity of a life time for a designer to look at her work. She heads to New York without telling anyone in the family. She goes and buys fabric and notions for some designs she has. Then she goes and meets the designer which almost turns out bad for her. She is so shaken that she goes back to her hotel room she is attacked and luckily the attacker is chased away by some other people. Jed is called to hospital to take care of her.
He takes her back to Kentucky and Dawg and his cousins find out about the attack and they are all pissed. Dawg knows that if they try to protect her they will all lose Piper. They all soon realize that when Piper rented the SUV in New York that she had gotten some gems mixed in with her notions.
The Nauti boys do what they do best and protect Piper with Jed’s help.

Lover At Last by J.R. Ward

                                                http://www.jrward.com/

“With Qhuinn looking at him like that, he couldn’t remember his own name. Blaysox? Blacklock? Blabberfox?”  When I read this line I had to laugh.  This book was another hit in the Black Dagger series.   When I read these series, I could always feel the sexual tension between Qhuinn and Blaylock.

(spoiler alert)
There are so many details and mini storylines going on in this book that to actually tell you about it would be hard.  So I will focus on Qhuinn  and Blay.  That way you can read the story and find out about the others.

John Matthew and Qhuinn are out on patrol.  Qhuinn is John Matthews ashtruz nohtrum.  Meaning that he is Johns guard and he must always be with John. They stop and get snacks at the store. Two guys with a death wish decide to steal Qhuinns hummer.  They manage to track it down with the help of Rhage and Blay.  It is during this time that Blay realizes that Qhuinn is still on his suicide mission. Qhuinn gets injured when he tries to get his Hummer back.  He sees a little girl while he is hurt.  Blay and Qhuinn have been attracted to each other and were best friends before they transitioned.  They are both to pig headed to act on the mutual attraction.

The story continues with Selena the Chosen going into her needing.  Selena is really close with Qhuinn and asks him to service her because she wants a child.  Qhuinn agrees to this because he knows that there is no mate for him and he wants a child.  Blay feels that there is no chance for him when he finds out that Qhuinn and Selena are expecting a young one.  The problem is that Selena starts to miscarry.  Selena is a Chosen and they are NOT supposed to have sex.  This causes Phury who is the primale to get involved.  Qhuinn and Blay and Phury take Selena to Dr. Havers trying to help stop the miscarriage but they are unable.  When they return to the mansion Selena goes to her room realizing that it is only a matter of time before she looses the young completely  Blay doesn’t want his friend to be hurt anymore so he goes to Payne to see if there is something she can do to help.  Payne is able to stop the miscarriage because her mother is the scribe virgin, the one that brought all vampires into existence.

While out scouting for lessers Qhuinn discovers that the Omega has been keeping his brother alive.  Qhuinn thought that his whole family had been killed after they disowned him.  The Black Dagger Brotherhood remove Qhuinn as Johns protector and bring him into the fold as a brother. Qhuinn and Blay finally get together and realize that no matter what they have been there for each other.  Qhuinn arranges a mating ceremony to Blay knowing that they love each other and never want to be apart.  They both realize that when Selena has her young that they will be a mismatched family, to Blay like Qhuinns eyes absolutely perfect

The Hunter by Monica McCarty

Ewen "Hunter" Lamont has spent four years putting his prized tracking skills to the test in the service of the elite Highland Guard. Curt and short-tempered, no women has ever been able to thaw his fierce warrior's demeanor...until he meets Sister Genna, a troublesome Italian nun. Alluring and impudent, she doesn't seem like any nun he's ever met--and it's true that she is much more than she appears. She's really Lady Janet of Mar, the missing twin sister of a guardsman's wife, who has been working undercover as a courier for the Scots, and Ewen finds himself charged with finding her and ensuring her safe return. Yet it soon becomes clear that the betrothed Lady Janet affects him in ways he's never felt before. When betrayal leads to danger, everything depends on the man who can find anything. Except, perhaps, what matters most of all: love.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I must give applauds to Monica. This was an amazingly well written story. In the way she described their surroundings, the person's emotions, physical apperence and when she described some of the scents, it was like you could smell them off the pages. I have a vivid, active imagination what could I say? Its lovely to watch as a stone non-emotional "hunter" turn into a big softy, once he finally realizes he found the one thing he didn't even realize he had lost. I will be honest, I am thankful not to have lived in those days. I don't think I could have been as brave, strong and controlled as Janet. It was so hard to put he book down once I had picked it up.
Undone By Sara Humphreys
Party girl Marianna Coltari is an unmated pureblood Amoveo who wants nothing to do with the ongoing war that took her father’s life and continues to consume her brother, Dante’s. But when she is targeted by one of the clans, she has little choice but to run and hide in a cabin with Pete Castro, a retired cop from her brother’s security firm. There, Pete and Marianna explore an intensifying attraction between them until danger is at the door and there’s no escape.
This is the Fourth Book in the Amoveo Series. You do not have to read in order......but they would make more sense if they were *lol*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Oh my god, I loved this story. The passion, the chemistry. I loved Marianna and Pete's personalities and how they fit together so well. The little surprises throughout the book. The writing was fantastic and the love scenes were perfect, not to raunchy but not vanilla. There was never a doubt in my mind that this book would be anything but amazing. I honestly just can't put into words how much I enjoyed this book. You need and I mean neeeed to get this book (AND SERIES!). I can't get enough of it!

Aphrodite’s Embrace-by Julie Kenner

This is a super cute comic romance. Jenny’s mother just slayed me with her obsessive need to find her a Protector (superhero) husband, and not even trying to disguise her actions, and even when Jenny found a mortal man-she still didn’t stop her machinations. The love between the two was just as obvious as the frustration. Starbuck couldn’t have been a better choice for the both of them. He is not the arrogant obnoxious type that defines most of the Protectors that had so put her off, and of course her mother got the Protector son-in-law. Five hearts for the fun read.

Jennifer is a mortal working in the Mortal-Protector Liaison Office along with her mother Daphne. Daphne is constantly trying to set Jennifer up with or persuade her to date any one of the Protectors that come through the MLO, but Jenny just won’t have it. She just isn’t into the arrogance that just oozes off most Protectors. The latest scheme to set Jennifer up goes awry when Daphne’s new assistant, Starbuck, gets Jennifer off Daphne’s latest matchmaking hook by taking a chance and informing her that Jennifer had already agreed to go to the party with him. Jennifer is thrilled, Daphne, not so much. Starbuck is only mortal; at least that’s what everyone is supposed to believe. He’s actually working undercover to find the mole in the MLO that is feeding information to the Protectors arch enemy Hieronymous. While his cover allowed him to get closer to Jennifer whom he had instantly developed a crush on, but it also put him in a conundrum as Daphne is his main suspect. Starbuck has his work cut out for him in finding the true mole, and he has to find a way not to lose Jennifer when she finds out that he is actually a Protector not the
mortal she thought he was.

A sexy sweet tangle, this romantic suspense kept me guessing till the very end. I was rooting for Joey (NOT Josephine) to figure out a way untangle herself from the web of lies she had woven around Ash in order to protect him and her beloved sister Caro. The dynamic between the two just made my spine tingle. Way to go Maggie-another 5 heart read!

Joey has always had the extra little gift of premonition and suddenly she is seeing her beloved sister’s death along with a mysterious man whom she finds out is Ashville Coye star reporter. When Joey heard about Ash’s car accident that wiped out his memory she just couldn’t pass up the chance to insert herself into his life in hopes that she would be able to prevent his death and in turn her sisters. Her plan instantly goes awry, because little did she know that Ash’s supposed amnesia is a cover story he is using in hopes of luring the murderer to him. Well, that, and the fact that she is completely helpless to stop herself from falling in love with him.

ALL MY LIFE COVER REVEAL BY RUCY BAN

ALL MY LIFE
Seventeen-year-old Kari meets Neil Mars. “Neil as in Armstrong and Mars…as in Bruno.” A boy who beats every vampire, werewolf, highlander fantasy Kari has ever had. But she knows can’t get close to him. Not ever. Because that would mean telling him everything. Coming clean. And Kari can’t bear the idea of changing the way Neil looks at her. Like she’s the only girl in the world. His reverence is something too precious to lose. Perhaps even at the cost of losing him.
But Kari doesn't know why Neil calls her his ‘Angel’ and when she finds out, she realizes what love is all about. Boundless joy, unending longing and a fuckload of heartache.

*****************************************************
EXCERPTS from All My Life:

“I can take care of myself,” I tell him.
His lips twitch in response. “Oh, I’m sure you can, little shrub.”
“You are warned!” I take my voice down a notch and point my ring at him, “I’ll tunnel your leathery knighthood right out of this galaxy!”
Neil suddenly halts in his tracks and pins me down with eyes. “Batman vs. Green Lantern? Batman wins. Every. Single. Time.”
“Ohmygod! So not true. In the…”
He cuts me. “One word…yellow.” I stare at him with my mouth half-open.
“‘Nuff said,” he says smugly and then tugs on my hand.

*******************************************************
Maybe I’ll forget this feeling someday. Maybe it’ll just be reduced to a memory made up of a flickering gas heater, the salty dew of his skin and the love in his dark, inky eyes. This feeling of pure unadulterated joy. Of reaching a high so potent that your spirit feels like it’s soaring across the universe…and falling from that glorious peak only to find yourself enveloped in someone’s warm caring hands. When you feel like you’ve just died or been born, right at the same time. It could be that I’ll forget this feeling someday. But I’m sure it won’t be anytime soon. Maybe when I’m a hundred and looking forward to my lunch of mashed bread. Not one single day before.

Rebecca's Lost Journals Volumes 1-4 by Lisa Renee Jones

Vol. 1 The Seduction

Rebecca's dream career was to work in a gallery, but instead she ended up working at a bar, after losing the one person she depended on, her mother. Now she suffers from horrific nightmares. She loves art...and she felt so lucky when she get an internship at a very popular gallery, along with a boss who looks like a sex God.

She can not help but shiver whenever he is near....now she is finding out a lot about herself as well as him through a very intense seduction that is very hot and she isn't sure if she can handle it, and its only been 2 weeks! After her first time at being submissive with her boss, and "Master" Mark, the ball is now in her court on weather or not she wants to continue on and sign his agreement and become his completely....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just reading the first volume of the journals and I am already wanting to get through the other ones. There is nothing wrong with exploring ones sexual interests and well it looks like right now Rebecca has no idea what she is going to do. For someone who is new to exploring BDSM this is definitely a book series you would want to read. As someone who has explored personally, Rebecca is going through exactly what I have when I first started.
****************************************************
Vol. 2 The Contract
In the beginning Rebecca starts looking over the contract and figuring out what her limits are, when it comes to what is listed as what Mark her soon to be "Master" is expecting from her. For several days she sits at the table looking at the contract and debates on weather or not she is going to give in or not. And since the ball is in her court she has to go to him, he wont come to her. Before she knows it, instead of dealing with the contract her "Master" begins to teach her the role of submission and begins lesson sessions...which turns her world upside down. Plus things are going extremely well for her at the Gallery. Now she needs to really figure out if she is going to sign the contract or not....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This second volume of Rebecca's journals is beyond impressive. You learn and feel more about how dominate Mark really is, and how he wants to try and push Rebecca's limits but always lets her know she has the out by using her safe word and everything will stop. Lisa Renee Jones is a remarkable writer and really knows how to get someone's imagination going. It also makes me realize that when it comes to exploring BDSM I am not alone in my own fears, worries and doubts.
****************************************************

Vol. 3 His Submissive

Rebecca thinks she is ready...but then realizes that may not after she receives her very first punishment. Her emotions are going out of control and she begins to wonder if she really is herself or not. She wants to be that girl again that doesn't need anyone's help, or protection let alone being taken care of. Mark is being very patient as much he wants her to be his...he knows she isn't. She has now seen a more softer side of him and she is now wondering how in the world did he get under her skin. He slowly begins to push her limits and begins the ultimate lesson to see weather or not she really is ready to give up her control and give it all to him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HOT DAMN! I have no other words to really describe this volume of the journals. This one was definitely more intense and mind blowing than the first two. Honestly not surprised but I am also proud at how Rebecca is not only pushing herself but growing to realize that there is more to ones self than we know.
******************************************
Vol. 4 My Master
 It seems we begin that its been 4 months and its now time to renew their contract. And as it seems there is a little bit of confusion going on. They are not completely open publicly, though a few know or suspect. Also she has been staying at his place instead of her own. Rebecca claims she has fallen in love with her Master Mark, but thinks he doesn't love her in return. She is wanting her freedom, she wants to be the women she was before all this started...she wanted more and was afraid she'd never get it with him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am not really to pleased at where these journal entries ended. Then again I predicted in my head a different turn of events. Also this one seemed to be way shorter than the others and I am quiet sad about it. But it gives me the "what happens next questions" running through my brain.
*************************************

All and all, these were all very well writen and I must say Lisa is another author who is newly introduced to me that I am looking forward to following more and more. I have to giggle a little bit, being a girl from California and was raised in the Bay Area as a young girl...we called the "trolleys", "cable cars".

It isn't easy to go through but as the saying goes "always follow your heart" and that is exactly what Kate ends up doing. ~~Jessica's Obsession-by Taabia Dupree~~

Reviewer ~ Tanna Clark

Wow-talk about a truly creepy character.  Taabia's Jessica certainly made my skin crawl.  This is a short read, but still entertaining. The brief nature of the story seemed to necessitate having Jessica's character flaws spelled out rather obviously and was kind of jarring at first.  At least until presented with some of her creepier actions. All in all a good story, and would benefit with some story expansion-maybe showing how Jessica is conniving rather than calling her a conniving child right of the start when really all the reader has seen of her so far is an embarrassed little girl with a crush.  Four hearts for Jessica's Obsession.

The story starts out in grade school with best friends Jessica and Lizzie Stone. That is of course where Jessica starts to crush on her best friends brother Tony-which turns into a full blown obsession, and with her dangerous quirks this means trouble for the Stone family.
