Turn to Darkness By Jaime Rush

Let me just start out with saying I was jumping up and down when I got the chance to read and review another one of Jaime Rush's books. And I was NOT disappointed at all. This short story is the 6.5 installment in the Offspring series. This story features Shea and Greer. It has lots of action, suspense, and every emotion you can name. Another great story by the amazing Ms. Rush.

Synopsis
The next installment in the Offspring series.

Shea is used to taking care of herself. She has special powers, and she knows how to use them. She's pushed away the ugliness of her past, just like she pushed away Greer, the only man who had ever reached beyond her defenses.

All Greer wants is to love Shea, though that comes at a high price for him: as a shapeshifter, once he takes her as his mate, he'll never be able to let go. So maybe it's for the best that she's made it clear she is not interested in anything romantic.

But when Shea's traumatic past combines with a new danger, nothing will stop Greer from protecting the woman he loves, even if it means losing any chance he has of a future with her.

Dark Nights by Christine Feehan

Dark Nights is the latest instalment from Christine Feehan in The Dark Series.  This book comprises two earlier books, Dark Descent and Dark Dream with added detail to each of the stories.
The first part of Dark Nights is from her 11th book in the series, Dark Descent.
After being critically injured while performing her duty as a bodyguard Joie Sanders connects with injured Carpathian, Traian Trigovise. They have several conversations while believing she is dreaming, but in fact having an “out of body experience”.
Due to her experience while she is in hospital she is drawn towards the mysterious Carpathian Mountains with her brother and sister and her travel companions.  What they find beneath the mountain changes not only Joie and Traian life, but also that of her brother and sisters too.
Discoveries, friendships and love are found amongst dire circumstances and as they all race to get out of the mountain and back to safe ground they must fight every inch of the way against deadly mage traps that had been set years before and fight off the vampires that have given into temptation and now only seek victims to drain.

In a cave of mystery and wonder deep in the Carpathian Mountains , bodyguard Joie Sanders encounters a most remarkable being. Proud, strong, immortal, he is called Traian an ageless hunter, locked in a life and death battle with enemy vampires” and he will be her salvation in a labyrinth protected by the ingenious traps of a mysterious ancient race. What awaits them in the darkness is not known, and each step could be their last as their destined path leads them toward a fiery passion that will illuminate the perilous dark night

She’s known him since she was fifteen. Every night, he is with her: his face, his voice. Tonight, Sara Marten will meet the man who is both angel and demon, salvation and temptation: Falcon—the Carpathian, the banished hero. Tonight, Sara will meet the dark-eyed destroyer destined to be her mate.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The second part of Dark Nights is from her 7th book in the series, Dark Dream.
Sara Marten has dreamed of the same man every night she has closed her eyes since she was 15.  She has also been hunted by another for just as long.  One Carpathian to save her and for her save him and one Vampire out to destroy both of them.
We also learn that Vladimir Dubrinsky, the Prince of the Carpathians many years earlier sent warriors out all over the world many years ago to kill any Carpathian turned vampire that exists.
Falcon is one such Carpathian sent out more than a millennium ago and as he feels he is reaching the time he needs to take his life before turning vampire he comes face to face with Sara, his life mate and suddenly the world is in colour and worth living again.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Dark Nights and the extra insight you gain from the extra pages that was added to this re issue.  As usual, there is no disappointment when it comes to reading any of the instalments from The Dark Series.  For more titles visit her website today.
The Last Renegade by Jo Goodman
 SHE HIRED HIM TO PROTECT HER TOWN
As the owner of the Pennyroyal Saloon and Hotel, Lorraine Berry is privy to almost everything that goes on in Bitter Springs, Wyoming—including the bloodshed plaguing its citizens. With all of the good men dying at the hands of a local rancher and his three sons, Raine hires a shootist to be the town’s protector. But her handsome new employee is more than a hired hand; he’s a man who keeps his guns close and his secrets closer.
BUT NOTHING COULD PROTECT HER HEART
After a chance encounter on a train, Kellen Coltrane travels to the Pennyroyal to carry out a dying man’s last wish. But once he meets the hotel’s fiery-haired proprietor, Coltrane finds himself assuming the role of the shootist’s accomplice and agrees to protect Bitter Springs. And as he learns more about Raine’s own tragedy, Coltrane can’t deny his growing desire for the courageous widow, or the urge to protect her from the threat that draws near…
My thoughts
This book was a little slow for me at first. I mainly think it was due to the fact that it was my full length western novel I've read. It took a little bit to get into 'character' in order to understand the lingo and old Western talk. But once i caught on the book became really interesting. I went to bed dreaming about gun slingers, Cowboys in cowboy hats and boots and whiskey. The ending was not expected and it really made the book worth the read. So go pick it up and enjoy!
Against the Sun by Kat Martin
 Millions of lives are on the line. But for him, only one truly matters. It's not in bodyguard Jake Cantrell's job description to share his suspicions with his assignments. Beautiful executive Sage Dumont may be in charge, but Jake's not on her payroll. As a former special forces marine, Jake trusts his gut, and it's telling him there's something off about a shipment arriving at Marine Drilling International. His instinct is aroused...in more ways than one.
A savvy businesswoman, Sage knows better than to take some hired gun's "hunch" as gospel. And yet she is learning not to underestimate the man her grandfather hired to protect her. Determined to prove Jake wrong, Sage does some digging of her own and turns up deadly details she was never meant to see.
Drawn into a terrifying web of lies and deceit-and into feelings they can't afford to explore-what Jake and Sage uncover may be frighteningly worse than they ever imagined.
 My review
 Sage Dumont, is in the run to become Vice President of her Grandfathers Marine Drilling company. In order to get the job, she must close on a huge deal to buy some used drilling equipment from a Saudi Arabian sheik. Being a concerned grandfather, he hires Jake Cantrell to be Sage's bodyguard until the negotiations are complete. Unfortunately someone wants her to fail and when Jake and Sage stumble upon a plot more deadly than they can imagine, they must combine forces just to survive.
I really enjoyed this story. It was the first in the series I read even though it is the sixth installement in the Raines Of Wind Canyon Series.  I loved Jake's loner type character and Sage with her strong loyalty to her grandfather.  The chemistry between them was great except they were convinced what they had was a fling, which in romance stories is usually part of the plot. After i finished this book I immediately went and got the rest of the series. Absolutely loved the book and Kat Martin is an amazing author.
~~One Night Rodeo-by Lorelei James~~
Can I get an Mmmm Mmmm! One Night Rodeo rocked my world! I recommend adding it to your tbr list immediately. It is the latest installment of Lorelei James' Blacktop Cowboys series. Between the steamy scenes, banter/bickering, and the hilarious prank rehashing between Celia and Kyle, I had a horrible time putting the book down in order to get things accomplished around the house. Also, I was terribly stoked to see my name as one of the characters. Never have I read a book with Tanna as a character, and I have read an astronomical number of books, so thanks LJ for the extra cool perk ( :
Celia and Kyle have known and irritated each other for most of their lives. Celia is Kyle's best friend's little sister, and that means she is off limits. For the last few years Kyle has had a tough time remembering that hard and fast rule. Then they wake up from a drunken night of revelry in Las Vegas to find out they had gotten hitched. Celia demands an annulment immediately, but an emergency phone call from Kyle's mother puts the annulment on hold so that they can get back home and figure things out. Kyle has already decided that there is No. Way. In. Hell. he is going to let Celia out of this quickie marriage without a fight. So he persuades her to stick with it for at least 6 months and help him learn how to run the ranch he has just inherited. He just hopes it will be enough time to convince her that their marriage was no mistake.
Until There Was You by Jessica Scott
...............................................................................................
A by-the-book captain with a West Point background, Captain Evan Loehr refuses to mix business with pleasure—except for an unguarded instance years ago when he succumbed to the deep sensuality of redheaded beauty Claire Montoya. From that moment on, though, Evan has been at odds with her, through two deployments to Iraq and back again. But when he is asked to train a team prepping for combat alongside Claire, battle-worn Evan is in for the fight of his life.
Strong, gutsy, and loyal, Captain Claire Montoya has worked hard to earn the rank on her chest. In Evan, Claire sees a rigid officer who puts the rules before everything else—including his people. When the mission forces them together, Claire soon discovers that there is more to Evan than meets the eye. He’s more than the rank on his chest; he’s a man with dark secrets and deep longings. For all their differences, Evan and Claire share two crucial passions: their country and each other.
.............................................................................................
Until There Was You is the second book in the Coming Home Series by Jessica Scott.
A love story placed in the middle of the military.  A great story which gives a small insight to the way military life plays a major role in each decision that is made.  Loyalty, friendship, love, hate, this story has it all.
Spanning over three years is the story of Captains Evan Loehr and Claire Montoya.  Evan is a very highly strung individual who at first glance doesn’t seem to know how to relax and is distant to everyone.  Claire is the woman he is attracted to from the first night he lays eyes on her, the first night she kisses him to prove it’s alright to relax sometimes.  Fighting his attraction he tries to remain distant but knows the truth, he wants to be closer to her than anyone else he has ever known.  Both running from each other out of fear of being close to someone and getting hurt.  They both have scars that deeply affect them and as they slowly open to each other and begin to trust again we see if they have a chance to allow themselves to forgive for past mistakes and truly be happy again.
Just like other women, I love men in uniforms and this book has it written all over it. I love the alpha male, taking charge of Evan. At the same time, I enjoy seeing Claire going from being scared to a protective woman of those she loves. Their relationship is complicate but it has the spice that keeps you want to stay a step ahead of these two. The story is very well written and I am looking forward to the next instalment.
Heart of Gold-By JR Ward
Heart of GoldShe pens gold no matter the genera! I immensely enjoyed Heart of Gold, one of JR Ward’s non-paranormal romance books. I loved both main characters Nick and Carter, they are both strong independent people that just really aren’t looking for more in their personal lives, but of course fate always has other plans. Another character I loved and really hope to see more of is Nick's nephew, Cort. He was a very strong presence-outspoken, sweet, and he certainly was not one to let things pass with out making certain his opinion was known. I cannot get enough of JR Ward! She is a writer that had captured me with the very first book I picked up- which just happened to be paranormal genera-one of the BDB books. I had not read any of the books she had written under her alter Pen Jessica Bird... I know, Bad Me! Well, now I know that the Warden is a very well rounded writer, and I will have to go dig up the Jessica Bird works. Way to go Warden!
Archaeologist Carter Wessex is well known and well respected in her field, and is the only person her best friend, Grace, thinks may have shot at getting to the bottom of the 200 year old Winship mystery involving a betrayal, murder, and a fortune in gold residing on Farrell Mountain. The problem is, Nick Ferrell, the man who owns Farrell Mountain has no respect for the archeological profession, preferring to think of them as gold diggers, and takes great pleasure in denying access to his land. Carter figures she is likely to get booted out the door without even speaking to the infamous tycoon, but gears up for the challenge and heads to Farrell Mountain. Determined to plead her case Carter manages to talk her way past Nicks housekeeper guard dog to find herself standing before the man himself. And oohhy, what a man! That is, utill he opens his sexy, rude, and insulting mouth.
Nick is in no mood to deal with the a-moral gold diggers that have been flooding his mountain with requests to search his land since that degenerate shyster Lyst snuck onto his land and found the cross he has been telling everyone belongs to the Reverend Winship.. How this one talked her way past Gertie he’ll likely never know, and he had better get rid of her before she has the suck him into her game too. Only after unceremoniously shutting Carter down does he realize that she is the only child of William Wessex the very man Nick is in the middle of making a billion dollar deal with. Nick finds out that Carter has been estranged from her father, and he desperately wants to rebuild their relationship. If Nick can bring them back together Wessex will owe him BIG time. But when the time comes to put them in the same place Nick gets cold feet. He knows that the fragile relationship that has begun between Carter and himself would be blown to pieces if she were to get wind of his initial plan to use her to further his business relationship with her father. He has to convince her that he loves her before she finds out about why he had changed his mind about letting her dig on his land.
Closing Costs by Liz Crowe
Closing Costs is the third book in the Steward Realty series by Liz Crowe.
Honestly, what can be said about this love saga?  It has everything you are looking for; Angst, passion and lots of sexual tension.
Closing Cost continues the story of Sara and Jack and spans over several years.  At times, this story is frustrating but so humanly normal you have to continue reading just to see if it all turns out alright in the end and whether Sara will actually achieve her “Happy Ever After” she is looking for.
If you thought Sara and Jack’s relationship was complicated in the previous two instalments, it’s nothing to how complex everything is now.  We have a third party and a child to add to the mixture, bringing extra drama and fun to the mix.
At times through this book I wondered whether either of them had learnt anything over their lives about each other and life in general but I guess that’s what makes this book so good in the way it can enchant you and brings to live the main characters so well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Love conquers all? Not likely, according to Sara Thornton. She's spent eight years coming to terms with the new parameters of her life while resigning herself to the idea that “happily ever afters” are best left to fairy tales. Sales manager for her successful real estate office and juggling an added element of responsibility she never thought she'd face, Sara continues to struggle with the men in her life. Love, for her, has only meant hurt, broken trust and anger; all of which she’s completely banished from her life, so she claims.

Jack Gordon has come a long way since his early days of obsession with Sara. As the general manager of Stewart Realty, his own level of responsibility for the well-being of others has ramped up. He’s even honed his caretaking skills, now that he has someone who loves him unconditionally.

Continuing to invest effort and rebuild their relationship, he and Sara grow close as friends. Despite this, his ultimate question remains unanswered; the one he keeps asking, no matter how many times she says no. Sara isn't prepared for the keen focus of his need--to have her back, once and for all. Her stubborn resistance nearly rips both lives apart

The epic conclusion to The Realtors series, Closing Costs brings Jack and Sara truly full circle. Proving that the heat of lust and obsession; the need for control and to be

Sweat Equity by Liz Crowe

Sweat Equity is the second book in the Stewart Realty series by Liz Crowe.
Sweat Equity continues the story of Jack and Sara and their quest to discover what they seek from each.  It’s another sizzling and emotional rollercoaster ride the whole way through the book.  At times the story leaves you on the edge of your seat feeling like pulling your hair out and at other times you are cheering them on hoping they finally get their act together and will be able to live their lives happily together in each other’s arms where they belong.
Liz Crowe has delivered another wonderful and sexy story that gives all the sexy scenes we have grown to love and expect in each of her novels as well a superbly written storyline.  I can’t wait to read the next instalment of this series.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jack Gordon thought he’d finally made it. He had a wildly successful career, money in the bank and even returned to his life as Dom, putting an end to a string of unfulfilling sexual encounters. Now that he's made the ultimate commitment to Sara Thornton, he believes all is right in their world. However, a series of misunderstandings and a dose of self-fulfilling prophesy bring his perfectly crafted house of cards tumbling down around him, forcing him to confront lingering misgivings about marriage and trust. Could those be the only two things he can never achieve?
Sara struggles with her intense need for Jack and her desire for less volatility in her busy life, two goals which appear to be mutually exclusive. Although willing to put in the time and emotional effort to make their relationship work, she finds it futile and frustrating, littered with clashes thanks to near-identical personalities and temperaments. Given Sara’s history, easing back into the comfortable status quo becomes easier than fighting a war with the one person who should be her safe haven. But will the easier choice satisfy her the way only Jack can? Is her "war" one that comes from without or within?
Buffeted by circumstance, temptation and distraction, Jack and Sara’s tenuous relationship crumbles, sparking a continuous quest for the ever elusive: trust, love and acceptance. By the time they rebuild a foundation for renewal, fate has other plans. This leaves them both reeling, once again questioning their destiny.
Lingerie and Lariats by Cheyenne McCray
Lingerie and Lariats is the latest instalment from the Rough and Ready series by Cheyenne McCray.  I found this book a fun read with just the right amount of drama and romance to make it the perfect book to read during a lazy day or night.
Stygian's Honor by Lora Leigh
Stygian’s Honor, is the 27th book in the Breed series by well known author, Lora Leigh.  The story continues with the breed society trying to find answers to what is happening to Amber, the daughter of Jonas, the director of the breeds and his mate, Rachel.  Amber was injected with a mysterious serum when she was a young infant and has suffered severe side effects since.
Following many leads they have found themselves at the doors of the Navago Nation searching for two missing teenage girls, Faith Corrigan and Honor Roberts.  There has been no trace since their disappearance, but the breeds know that the council are after the missing girls as much as Jonas wants them found.  Jonas believes they hold the answer to the cure needed for his much loved daughter.  Gideon, one of the breeds that was trapped with the teenage girls is also hot on their trail and in a race against time to see who will find the girls first.
Liza is the Navago Nation representative and Stygian Black is the breed that has been given the task to find Honor Roberts.  When they meet there is an instant attraction and the more time they spend together they hotter the setting becomes.  I loved the character of Stygian Black.  He was the usual strong and dominant male breed, but also showed just how in sync he was to his mate.  As Stygian and Liza delve deeper into the missing girls disappearance while fighting the mating heat they finally find some of the answers they have been searching for.
As usual Lora Leigh doesn’t disappoint when it comes to sexiness, intrigue and an added little bit of humour.  Each time I have finished one of her books I find myself yearning for the next instalment and wondering which character will be brought to life for us.
            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Window Rock, Arizona, is the last known location of Honor Roberts, who vanished when she was just thirteen. It was her only sanctuary from the Breed research that would surely have ended in her death—one such insidious experiment should, indeed, have killed her. That she lived is both a miracle—and a great mystery.

Stygian’s mission is to find Honor Roberts, no matter the cost. Now, with the help of Liza Johnson, assistant to the chief of the Navajo Nation, he is closer than ever to his goal. But will the discovery of Honor Roberts mean the destruction of the mating heat that has developed between Stygian and Liza

White Hot by Nina Bruhns

Clint Walker is unfortunately being pursued but, not by the hot female captain of the cargo ship he just stowed away on. He is now being chased across the icy seas of the Alaskan Bering Sea by Chinese agents who are after a highly classified data card containing top-secret military intell. Now they are planning a nasty surprise for the entire crew of the ÃŽle de CÅ“ur , including its pretty captain and him.

Running straight into danger, Captain Samantha Richardson is determined to get back her hijacked ship from a bunch of greedy modern-day pirates. And no one better try telling her she’s “just a girl” and can’t fight for her own ship, especially not even a damn wannabe hero. Clint knows these aren’t simple pirates, they’re dangerous assassins trying to retrieve the data card from him, by any means necessary. While battling to save the ship and innocent lives of the hostage crew, Clint and Sam realize they have to work together to defeat this enemy. Meaning they need to learn to trust one another.

They soon realize that the passion between them is not just from adrenaline sex, but the real thing--true love -- and the vows they made in the fever of danger will live inside their hearts forever.

Very interesting storyline, and I did enjoy the ups and downs. Personally there was more action than romance for my taste but I know we all have our own opinions. There are many Military based stories out there and well Nina Bruhns did an amazing job. So if you want to see if they live long enough to fulfill those heartfelt promises or will the enemy take down the ship, take back the vital intell, and take out their possibility of a future together. Then go ahead and pick this book up and see for yourself.

Where There's a Will - by Karen Kelley

Where There's A WillYes, I have a winner! I found another Must Have author. Where there’s a Will had me intrigued from the very beginning. It is part of a series/companion I don’t know how I would personally classify it as I didn’t realize it (I just hoped it would be)- till I was finished reading and Googled Karen hoping to find more of her books. It is part of the Good Girl series and is the second installation. It was both humorous and titillating- what more could a girl want? Mark it in your calendars-Where There’s a Will comes out on September 9th - You NEED to pick up this book, and if you haven’t already you might want to grab the first book as well - Where There’s Smoke - which was only released a few short months ago.

The underlying story is something that most women are familiar with. Haley grows up believing herself the ugly duckling because that is what she has always been told. Everyone is always offering well meaning advise, but it is never the right advise for her. Haley is a good girl, but she has what her family would consider a naughty secret. She has been keeping a very salacious journal of all her hot and sexy fantasies. She is desperate to explore her sexual side, but is unable to draw the right man to experiment on. Stood up once again she prays for a miracle in the form of a really hot, drool-worthy, sexy man. She was dead tired of all the losers and rejects.

Her prayers are answered, and then some when Ryder Shows up on her doorstep. Ryder is a Nephilim and is definitely hot, drool-worthy and sexy. Hearing her prayer he want to give her is personal attention. He decides that he wants to do with her every single fantasy she has written about in that journal of hers, and show her exactly how beautiful she is while she is doing it. Boy answering this prayer is certainly no hardship!

Definitely a 5 star read

Seductions Shift by A.C. Arthur

Seduction's ShiftSeductions Shift releases on September 25th and is the second in the Shadow shifter series. I haven't read the first, Temptation Rising, which I think may be a shame, and I am definitely going to have to pick it up. I may have been able to get into the story a lot faster than I did had I had the background that Temptation Rising would have provided. I only say this because she didn't really describe what Ary and Nick look like for us in much detail, so I couldn't get a good clear picture in my mind. However, that is my only complaint. She did give me a clear picture of charactors that were clearly being just introduced in Seductions Shift. She was able to keep me reading because she did a great job of giving me a feel for Ary and Nicks personalities. They were very realistic throughout, and she otherwise did a fabulous job bringing me into her shifter world. They are both very strong charactors, kick butt and sexy, and there was tons of action to keep me turning the pages. Ary made me think a lot of Rosario Dawson as her charactor in The Rundown. There wasn't really anybody in particular that Nick brought to mind, but he was definitely the typical Alpha male- agressive, sexy and totally clueless as to the female rationale. I look forward to reading Caprise and Xaviar's story. The peeks into their charactors have me revved.
Ary is the Curandero, or medicine woman, of one of the shadow shifter tribes in the Gungi jungle. She was raised knowing that she would always have to put the needs of the tribe ahead of her own, and had fully intended on fufilling the responsibility. Even after the unthinkable happens...she finds her mate in the uber sexy Nick Delgado. The problem is, he is not a Curandero also, which her tribe could not or would not accept and their parents force them to separate and move Nick to the United states.
Sixteen years later Nick is drawn back to the Gungi when he learns that Ary is missing and may have been taken by the rogue shadow shifter Sabar. Knowing that Sabar couldn't possibly have anything good planned for his Ary he is desperate to bring her back to the safety of her family and the tribe, then hopefully resume his normal life. His plan quickly disinigrates when he does get her back only to find out that the family he was hoping to return her to turns out to be part of the problem. After the gunfight that kills Ary's parents he knows that he has no other choice than to bring her back to the Unites States with him so that he can ensure her safety.

Fear the Darkness-By Alexandra Ivy

Fear the DarknessFear the Darkness releases on August 28th and is book 9 in Alex's Guardians of Eternity series, which if you haven't read any of the others in the series, you won't be lost. Alex shows a knack for giving you exactly what you need/want to know at just the right time... I say -haven't read the others in the series yet- because after you read Caine and Cassie's story you will definitely want to get to know the rest of her characters. They are all so very intriguing running the gambit of Alpha, sexy, brooding, badass, and completely devoted to their women. Cassie and Caine just exploded off the page for me and I adored them both throughout the entire story. Usually I will like the hero over the heroine in most stories but they were both completely on par for me. Caine is badass and totally devoted to keeping Cassie safe even from himself, and Cassie, though tiny in stature, shows incredible strength of will
Caine used to be a bad boy cur, who's greatest wish was to become pureblooded Were with power and women to spare. Well he has finally gotten his wish...one of them anyway. After having tangled with the darkest Demon Lord Caine is transformed into a powerful pureblood Were. Of course fate has to get her kicks in, and by golly has she whopped him a good one when she drops Cassandra in his lap.
Cassandra is a Were, but unable to shift, due to some tinkering by the Dark Lord, and an extremely rare and much sought after prophetess. She has been held captive for her entire life, and has no idea how to behave in society once Caine springs her from the Dark Lord's care. Thus Caine makes her safety his number one priority, and with her visions constantly leading them into danger this is no small feat. On top of that he has to fight the near obsessive attraction he has for her fearing that her attraction to him is only due to inexperience. Can he keep her safe and resist her wiles? We shall see...

Paging Doctor Wolf by Rebecca Royce

Dr. Dallas Olson who is a trauma surgeon, who is too busy to date. So he decides to sign up for Madame Eve’s 1Night Stand service thinking it may be a good idea, but he’s nearly killed by a wolf attack which may put his plan on hold. He is now dealing with unexplainable side effects, and while recovering he agrees to meet the women Madame Eve found for him.

Cara Johnson, a werewolf shifter is excited about her date but is disappointed when it’s canceled unexpectedly. Madame Eve informs her that the man she should have met with was attacked by a wolf and Cara fears he’ll become a rogue werewolf during the next full moon. Now she must find him and bring him to her own pack, or her Alpha will have no choice but to kill him.

Only days left before the full moon, Cara and Dallas meet. He thinks it’s a one-night stand. She thinks it’s a mission to save his life. Madame Eve has other ideas.

My oh my does Madame Eve really knows how to pick them. And I have to say Rebecca Royce has done it again. In this series especially with this book you can believe in love at first sight, or in this case smell. All it takes is one damn good matchmaker and allowing ones self to keep and open mind. Also we always expect life altering changes, which yes they can be difficult, but if you have that one special person who’s willing to stand beside you till the end, well then there is nothing neither of you can’t do.

The only dislike is that the story was way to short.

First off I want everyone to know how honored I am to be writing this review. Because of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s DH series I would not have the people in my life that I do now, and I probably wouldn’t be in this position to be writing for this amazing site.

In this book you learn more about Sunshine and her brothers, Nick and Ash's relationship, how tight Ren and Sundown care considering him and Abigail name a child after him...sorry wont give that away. :D You also get to see a little more of Alexion.You also learn that the Mayan and Cherokee history/myth relate to each other. Kateri and Ren see each other in their dreams, but as soon as they come into physical contact neither them ever expected to fall in love with one another.

I have to say this is one of the most amazing books from her Dark-Hunter series. Considering how everyone is constantly talking about the end of the world coming, this was perfect timing. Kenyon always seems to bring more depth into her characters which allows us to get to know them so much better. The way she writes the action and emotions just jump off the page. Once I got a hold of the book I really didn’t want to put it down. If you’re a fan and follow this series then it is a MUST read. Besides wouldn’t you like to know if this is the end of the world for our favorite characters, or if there is more to come?

Spoiler:

    She covered her eyes with her hand and groaned at what a basket case she must look like to poor Ren.
    “I am so sorry, sweetie. It’s just been a horrendous last few days. I’m tired. I’m scared, and I lost a really good friend right before all of this happened.”
     Ren didn’t respond. He just kept rocking her.
     Frowning, she wiped at her eyes and looked up at him. “Are you all right?”
     He nodded, then brushed away more of her tears.
    “Then why aren’t you speaking to me?”
     Panic flashed across his features. He glanced away as if trying to think of a response.
     “Ren? Talk to me.”
His lips twitched before he finally spoke in a low tone. “I don’t want to say the wrong thing again and make you cry more.”
      The pure innocent sweetness of that wrenched another sob from her.
“Ah, see now what I did. I’m sorry, Kateri. I won’t say anything else. I promise.”
       She laid her head down on his shoulder and wrapped her arms around his neck. “It’s so not you, baby. You did nothing, absolutely nothing wrong.”
       She squeezed him tight, wishing she could make him understand. “All you’ve been is wonderful.…”
        Ren knew she was speaking, but he couldn’t make out the words. Not after she’d called him baby and sweetie. No one had ever used an endearment for him before. Until now, the closest anyone had come was to call him friend or brother.
       But baby …
       He’d never been anyone’s baby.
“Are you listening to me?”
      You should probably say yes. That would be the smartest thing to do. But for some stupid reason the truth came out before he could stop it. “Um … no.”
     “Why are you tuning me out?” she snapped as fury lit up her eyes.
       Ren moved his jaw, trying to explain, but no words would leave his lips as he stammered over the word I. Why do I always do this shit when I least want to look like an idiot?
       He expected her to be angry. Instead, she kissed him senseless. Every part of him went into overdrive as his cock hardened.
       She pulled back. “What were you trying to say?”
Heat scalded his face. “I didn’t hear anything after you called me baby.”

COURTING CAROLINA by JANET CHAPMAN

Alec MacKeage was a ski bum, he was creating an amazing adventure trail for the new 5 star resort that would open in a month. During a freakish thunderstorm he rescues a beautiful woman who is being chased by kidnappers and after a little begging on her part he allows he to stay with him for a few days. But when those days stretch past a week, Alec finds himself fighting his attraction to the mysterious Jane Smith—despite knowing the woman isn’t who she claims to be. Then again, neither is he…

Jane is really Carolina Oceanus decided she didn‘t want to be trapped in a loveless marriage, and decided to run away. Now years later she’ll do anything to avoid the six ancient-minded men her father has brought to Maine for the grand opening ball for the resort to try and win her hand. But as the maddening competition heats up, Carolina realizes that she’ll have to come clean to Alec, the seductive loner who’s managed to capture her heart…

An absolutely amazing storyline! Makes you wonder how life would be if we all still had Father’s like Tidus. Champan really has brought an old style way of life as well as Mythology into the 21st century. Every women wants her Knight in Shining armor to find and rescue her. So if you haven’t found your Knight just yet, then I’d say pick up this book and imagine yourself being in Jane’s shoes.

He Came Upon a Midnight Clear by Desiree Holt

Review by Desere Steenberg He Came Upon a Midnight Clear (1 Night Stand Series)

I have been a Desiree Holt fan for a very,very long time and in He Came Upon a Midnight Clear I was once again surprises by just how very powerful this author can be.

The characters were strong,passionate,loving,remarkable and so much more. The book tells of Libby and Cody ,two people who both have a life decision to make but needs a little push in the right direction to get there. But at the same time they both have their secrets that could ruin it all.

Libby had a life altering experience at a spa and needs a little pick me up one night stand to make her feel like a true sensual woman again.Cody on the other hand as to find a wife by New Years Day or stand to loose his ranch.

This book was a wonderful addition to the "one night stand series" and in true Desiree Holt fashion gave me all I want from a good read. It was the kind of book that after reading you need more than just a few minutes to come back down to earth and catch your breath.

Desiree Holt twists here and twines there to create a absolutely wonderful read. She knows how,when and where to give the scenes the edge and

And yes it has that very happy ending that I have come to love from Desiree's books. It is a quick read but one that you will not forget.
