Review: Born of Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon

"The future is coming and The League is here. Surrender to brave new world of trained assassins and lethal lovers, when danger rules the night, passion are on fire and those who dare to defy The League walk on thin ice. Who is The League? In the Ichidian Universe, the League rules all. Expertly trained and highly valued, the League Assassins are the backbone of the government. But not even the League is immune to corruption." Commander Nykyrian Quiakides, former the League Class A assassin was born and trained to kill. Due to coincidental circumstances, his last mission has brought him to Kiara Zamir, daughter of a very powerful politician on Gouran. Within the heart of danger, the stars-crossed-lovers have found love and acceptance but with danger lurking around the corner, who can they trust? Together, can Nykyrian and Kiara escape to save  their lives while risking their hearts by trusting each other?

Wow! This is all I can say once I finished the book. I was never a fan of Sci-Fi movies or books but once I started reading Born of Night, I am hooked. I loved the sequential twists and turns of danger each page presented. I also loved the fiery passion between Nyk and Kiara, it made you yearn to have one of the same in your own life. In retrospect, Sherrilyn Kenyon outdone herself when she captured the true essence of being a man thru Nykyrian. It’s not where you were born or what race you are, but the person beneath all those hard exterior and what you’ve for the world. For those who have never read Sherrilyn Kenyon, I would definitely recommend this series to y’all. The series consist of romance, passion, adventures, mystery, and humor. It well worth the 6 hours spent reading :)
